Wife of the Oyo state Governor, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, on Thursday presented a letter of commendation and cash gift to a woman traffic police officer who spotted controlling traffic under the rain few days ago. The award was presented to her by the commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Atinuke Osunkoya at the Police Headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan.More photos below;

That her uniform does not look like the Nigerian Police standard issue.. I may be wrong but it really looks off.


And rather than reward her for standing under the rain, how about equipping them with Police issue raincoats and boots?


So when she saw that story about the lady controlling Traffic under the rain, rather than see the matter as a problem that needs to be fixed, she saw it as a photo opportunity to get some press.

How many officers will she reward like this?

Is this now a standard practice? So all officers that stand under rain to control traffic will get a reward or is this a one time thing?

The secret to success is to love what you do. She didn't control the traffic in the rain because she anticipated rewards. She did it because she loved her job. Unlike the countless people in the Nigeria Police who are there because they didn't find any other job their empty brains could handle.

This action by madame governors wife can be found Where incentives and salary structure are not well placed. She need not be "SPECIALLY" rewarded for doing her job diligently. Our politicians like eye services. This mistake must stop!!!
