Nigerian's Segun Toriola defeated Czech Republic's Dmitrij Prokopvoc 3-2 in Round 1 of the men's singles event in the table tennis event of the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Toriola lost the first set 11-8 but bounced back to win the second set 6-11.

Toriola finally took the third set 8-11 to advance into Round 2.

He will face Japan's Niwa Koki on Sunday for a place in the next round.

Meanwhile, Nigeria's duo of Funke Oshonaike and Edem Offiong, have both crashed out of the Table Tennis women's singles.

reasonable countries are already winning gold but we see nothing wrong about 200 million people making much of a table tennis player who advanced to second round and who will still be booted out when the competition hots up.

Lately, Funke Oshonaike has not been at her best at all. She need not rest on her oars. The Japanese guy will be a tough one for Segun; too early to face an Asian. All the best to him.

If this finally wins the title, u guys should just remain me i will tell u guys a story.......
