Hello mamas pls advise; my 2 weeks baby who is on EBF seem to be losing weight as his clothes are loosely fitted please advise if this is normal

It's normal for babies to lose weight in the first few weeks n then gain weight back again. Bt take him to the hospital and check his weight to be sure n reassured that baby is not underweight (below 2.5kg) + increase ur feeding. Feed on demand.

Hello House,
Morning and happy new week to all y'all. I am a Father, 'New Father' and I hope men are allowed on this thread wink
Advise needed from y'all. My baby boy is just 3 weeks old today. A week ago,we noticed this rash growing on his neck, not heavy though but still noticeable, and we started applying MARHABA PRICKLY HEAT POWDER, and it seemed to subside, but reading the instructions on the powder pack, I saw that the powder is not to be used for children under 3yrs of age, we had to discontinue for fear or causing damage to the boy's skin. Now the rash on the neck has cleared but has spread to his face and spreading gradually. The baby does not sweat as our living apartment is big, airy and quite cool, so I might want to rule out rash due to heat. I iron his clothing even after they dry from washing, and his bed spread is changed every days. We use Cussons range of baby products. We use SUDOCREM for his bum bum(no rash on here though, but don't know if it can be applied on his face too.
What could be the cause of the rash on his body then, now on his face, and what can we do to clear it? Expert advice needed please.

You are welcome daddy. Rash is common among new born. I just finished battling with mine. I used baby tribotan cream, rising powder n I change babies cloth at noon n once at night then apply powder on him. Also try not to over dress d baby at night. Instead of dressing him wt sleep suit try wearing him body suit instead or a vex n pant. You can also try Agnesia powder I heard it works wonders. HTH.

I was using coconut oil for my baby initially, then started having rash on the face at about one week so I switched to palm kernel oil. Since then smooth face. I use boots newborn wash but look forward to baby being 6 months so i can switch to a natural soap maybe sheabutter or black soap.

The rash is normal and i think proper name is baby acne.

Mamas that sabi please when do their gums start itching as per teething things?

Its different for each baby, and can happen at any time.

My lo's started at about 6 - 8 weeks. We even had a the top canines peek through at 2 mos and then go back in!!!
But no proper show till 6 mos when the 2 bottom teeth came out.

Y not try nasal drop. Wen i had such experience, after treatin with antibiotics, d noisey breathin continued. nasal drop was my remedy, his breathin became ok within 3 days of usin d drop.

It's absolutely normal for his head to wobble at 10 weeks as he is yet to establish full head/neck control which doesn't happen till the baby is about 3-4months.

It's very good she's encouraging him to sit as this helps his back muscles, neck, etc and also gives him the confidence. Just make sure that he is well supervised, comfortable and propped with pillows. He should NEVER be left unsupervised while "sitting" as he can easily tilt forward and fall.

Her nose is very congested.

Get a saline nasal spray with a nozzle (picture attached). Once you use it in both nostrils, use an aspirator or your mouth and suck out all the mucus.

Sounds like an infection.

DO NOT I repeat DO NOT clean his ears with cotton bud or anything as you can easily puncture his ear drums which can result in deafness. Take him to the hospital and ask the doctor to examine his ears. He might need antibiotics.

Do not allow any nurse or doctor clean his ears.
