Many of you are very ignorant of some things, you see those guys called Agbero actually work for NURTW. Some wear uniforms some dont wear uniforms. The money they collect is what actually made crime reduced in Lagos State. Remove those guys on the streets without alternative source to accomodate them and see Crime skyrocket back to the days of Buba Maruwa.

Yes for lagos to attain the mega city status those guys as well as the popular yellow buses called Danfo must go but you need to put them into active service so they dont go back to petty crimes.

It is impossible to get rid of agbero in Lagos. When it is time for elections, who will do all the hustling and voting?

Some of them work for NURTW
Koko Zaria and MC Oluomo have become millionaires because of this business

I hate those guys and omo-oniles with a passion. They're daylight robbers, I wonder what services they offer anyone.

They've always been around, but Tinubu exacerbated their menace by endorsing them then. It is shameful.

I'm never ashamed to be Yoruba, but I'm ashamed of those guys. They're dregs of our society.

You don't know what you're saying. Most of those guys are artisans who'd rather make easy money than do a day job. They should go back to their honest living!

A willing government will get rid of them easily. Nurtw should take its dues upfront like other unions.

Their officials should also mandatorily put on uniforms. Nigeria is not the only country with a transport union. People should stop being fvcking crude!

The government needs to continually erode these bastards by expanding the BRT scheme and licensing private sector participants/bus companies. No more ugly agberos!

Am not sure if you know what you are saying "Artisans" Lol which thug get time to learn handy work. The only way the govt can do what you suggested is to remove the yellow buses completely, train them and employ them into LAMATA if not then it impossible to stop this menace.

Very lucrative line of business.

No sunk cost, no fixed or variable cost, no material costs, all you got is revenue per minute. The worst the country economic condition, the higher your income from the trade.

In the year 2000, I was offered to acquire Mechanics Bus Stop after Okokomaiko before Iyana-Ishashi by ECOMOG Boyz leader in Mile 2, I turned down the offer. Maybe I would have been a Mega-Billionaire now... embarassed

If Lagos State would fully attain a Mega City Status, I don't know how they plan to address this menace of daylight robbers created for electioneering purposes.

Anywhere una help me see MC Oluomo, make una greet am for me oooo.

Government does not need to provide them jobs. There are so many entrepreneurs out there and government "does not provide them jobs". Nigeria will never progress if government is the one to provide everyone jobs. Including the miscreants called militants.

Good drivers will get snapped up by bus companies, others can pool funds and apply for bus company permits.

You are right but that is in an ideal country not Nigeria. Is just like the case of Ijaw Militants. They have decided its either they collect free money or they go into crime. So in such cases as these only govt can rehabilitate them and put into active and proper workforce so the crime rate can reduce. Dont forget they dont reason like you do.

Re: The Second Largest Employer Of Labour In Lagos State by Zetra(m): 2:19pm On Aug 12, 2016
there are in the streets now, they even task hawkers if not you wont be allowed in that area.
during December they block Street roads to collect compulsory contribution for Street jam.
Nobody can do them anything they are backed up by the chairmen and LG in their area.

the new one I heard some markets contribute compulsory every Friday for upkeep of their iyaoja. and if you are renovating the roof of the shop you are in, you will pay just like omonile.

solution: other State government should make it own start viable with social amenities then encourage their citizens with foreign investments and help for local production in their own states.
When people see that you can still do business and make profit in their various State, many will stay in their state and many will also relocate back to their state.

it ll ll de-congest Lagos; then things things be properly monitored and checkmated

Men you never see face.
