This is achieved by hiding a smaller conductor in a very thick pvc insulation to mask the true size.

The attached pictures show a coil of red cable clearly labelled as NIgerchin 6mm2 cable with the quality holographic seal, serial number etc all intact .pic 3 (this would pass anyday as genuine; from external visual inspection).. And another sample of the same 6mm cable in green, from Nigerchin.

On the outside, the red cable looks normal , same size you would expect a 6mm cable to be, Infact it looks larger or thicker than the green sample. but in reality the conductor has been sized down. In pic1 you can see from the huge difference in size between the conductor in the green sample which is true to size, and that in the red, which is a cleverly faked Nigerchin cable.
So what you see clearly labelled as 6mm2 is in the true sense about 2.5mm2 covered in a tonn of rubber. Calculate the cost difference between 2.5mm2 and 6mm2 and you’ll understand what I mean by profitability

...contd
So another one I heard from a family friend is that you have to test the conductor to make sure that it is continuous shocked

Friends, my decision to import my cables and electrical stuff is not born out of being pompous or goody to shoes, it's just that it's easier for me to buy Made In USA stuff that is tested by the government. CEOs have gone to jail for manufacturing sub-standard products here. They take these stuff seriously, and frankly ALL countries should take it seriously.

Mr Bosun/Brabus/N3ext/Nexthome/ #Mr Fraudster changing names. Where are your satisfied clients on this Nairaland Forum? Your only satisfied client is YOURSELF. THE HOUSE YOU BUILT FOR YOURSELF.
None of your clients on this forum is satisfied with you. NONE. Accusations and proof of defective building, theft, fraud, collusion to defraud, forgery of government documents, cheating follow you. Yet you feel the need to parade around like a peacock.

He whom the gods will destroy, they first make mad.
You think you are smart because you seem to be getting away.

As for his enablers and supporters on this forum. I beg you, when you are ready to build, engage Brabus, let us see..... The ones who tried it are licking their wounds with sinking and empty pockets

Diaspora people, I know with the current Foreign exchange situation, your money has more legs. Beware of sinking it into the hole of this fraudster.

Is it possible to rent a water tank? If so, approximately how much does it usually go for?

Buy the square industrial tank. It should be around 13k or 18k Max now due to rise in price of everything in Nigeria.

Before you finish your foundation, you'll have recoup the amount spent buying it.

Try and buy one and you can keep after your build is completed.

I was told the 2000 litre tank is 50K. How large are the 13k and 18k tanks you referenced?

1000 litres is 21k. 1200 litres is 24k. 2000 litres is 39k (original GeePee tanks)

Ajah prices as at this evening.

The size of the square tank is 1000 litres.

11k difference. It shouldn't be that much more in Ibadan.

I just bought overhead tanks for my ongoing project and a 2000 litres tank for an upcoming one. So the price is current.

______
I assume you are going to be buying water for now. How much is a tanker in Ibadan? Don't mind me o. I have something cooking in Ibadan that I'll be managing remotely and I want to have first hand information about prices of things.

8k for a tanker. At least that is what I was told.

Multiply by 10 trips should be in the range of 80k. That's what I'll estimate for ground works alone.
You'll need more than 1000 litres tank to avoid being shortchanged by the water man.

Dont you think digging a septic tank now will save you the extra costs of tanks for now? Septic tank can take more than 5000 gallons of water and can be used to store water during the rains.
That will require some serious planning though but a great savings in the long run.

The square white tanks are my overflow tanks. They can't be your primary tanks. Trucks are 6,000 to 8,000 liters.

I won't sink soakaway willynilly. Wait for madam to finish design and archie plans first.

yes thats a possibility with substandard cables, infact it relates directly to the second point in my earlier post. "conductor material"

when the conductor in the cable is some sort of copper alloy containing some element of iron or other such metal that are not as ductile as copper breaking can occur during manufacturing (copper wires are drawn to the proper size through a drawing process before they are annealed and coated with insulation) and when that happens you'll experience discontinuity in the length of cable in question.
normally this should be screened out by the QA/QC process because cable manufacturers are required to test for continuity before it passes QC,
but you ofcos cannot expect a counterfeiter to break sweat about some QC issues.

We haven't figured out the landscape layout yet so i don't want to dig the soak away. I just need the fence up before my neighbor starts building his fence. He's already taken some sand and rocks so I know he won't be afraid to steal a couple feet of land.

He's making me move faster than I wanted to.

You're very right bro, but on the flip side thats all the more reason we have to relentlessly create the right awareness and educate buyers.
people involved in all the jibiti are smiling to the bank daily and increasingly looking like the good guys while those attempting to maintain a standard or take the higher way are struggling with increasing costs and diminishing profit margins yet they're appearing more and more like the enemy. this has to stop!!

Even the gospel cannot be accepted by everybody, but that will not stop its propagation. The least we can do is share and inform. The rest is in the hands of the buyer.

truthfully its only natural to feel people should deal with the consequences of thier choices, but i have come to discover that many of those choices are made out of ignorance or misinformation.
There are just so so so many ways of making fast money with cables... so many

I got the shock of my life when i got a quote direct from a reputable manufacturer in the East. This explains it. They have increased prices and i think this just creates opportunities for foreign cables to take over the market.
its inevitable , the cost of importing raw materials has almost doubled. unless the govermnet subsidizes foreign exchange for certain essential manufacturing inputs, the trend is only going to continue.

Pls avoid those square tanks. They are mostly industrial chemical vessels that were reclaimed usually illegally. Some of the chemicals are carcinogenic and need special chemicals to properly reclaim for reuse. Remember that when thirsty, workers tend to drink from any water tank on site.
