michV:
good morning all, to encourage all PGC/PGD students,i came up with a sourced fact that PURPOSE OF VISIT is as a result of inconsistency in program.you can hardly hear of program inconsistency when it comes to masters or phd applicants.
lemme first quote moniker @favour0011 that said she applied to a college last year which i have read her profile and it happened she applied to HUMBER college and for PROJECT MANAGEMENT program cos from your recent MENG program in Elect/Comp Eng. in UoW ontario i presume you studied Electrical or Computer Engineering or Physics with Electronics.yes Engineers can manage huge projects and they do field work but Project Management as a course is not consistent/related with either Elect/Elect or Computer Engineering.i studied Elect/Elect Engineering and i don't think throughout my 5yrs we were taught anything related to Project Management even as a subject topic sef because i have checked my transcript to be sure in case i have forgotten.in addition, CONGRATULATIONS on your recent TRV with your new program @favour0011
i also saw @ another moniker but not yet certain that studied Accounting and going for Human Resource Management. Even if they are related as a profession which i don't think so,they are not related as a program. My friend was refused on PURPOSE OF VISIT/CURRENT EMPLOYMENT SITUATION,He studied Estate Management and going for Project Management program in Conestoga College, his GCMS note came out last month and it was as a result of program inconsistency.more especially to PGC/PGD we should be careful when choosing a program, don't say i feel it's related. I can't use because i studied LEGAL SYSTEM and PEACE & CONFLICTS as GSE/GES courses in my 100/200LEVEL and i will go and take up Human Resource Management as a program in Canada. For my field of Engineering, see a real time relationship and consistency; UG study: Electrical Electronics Eng, Occupation: Electrical Engineer, PGC: Wireless Communication. one can't be refused on PURPOSE OF VISIT rather they should find another fault if they want to refuse the applicant. To those refused, sorry and request for GCMS and give it another try if you have a good CGPA you can as well as try masters. When we do write our SOPs try to state why you chose to study in Canada, why such school, why the program and what was your motivation behind it,the benefit of the program in enhancing your employment prospects in home country,if it would also elevate your position and remuneration, state it in writing it signals to the VO that you have done real in depth research before embarking on such program.I feel VOs read SOPs and see if your study intents align with their thoughts about your program and the prospects to detect genuine students more especially to PGC/PGD/DIPLOMA applicants.i think too they also look into how lucrative your program will be to your career in reference to your academic qualification and home country so as to motivate your return back home.
Thanks all, while i await for my turn from Accra Immigration. i just felt to chip in this to calm those that might have done the right thing for GOD to favour us and to future pgc/pgd/diploma applicants to choose their programs rightfully
brderly I was also delayed on purpose of visit my question is ..does business administration which I read during my schoolling days nd human resources mgt don't go together Am rili baffled here ..I need ans pls

After my refusal early dis month, my father contacted an agent to facilitate my next application.. I was denied due to insufficient funds. I spoke with the agent that I needed only assistance with the visa application, the agent told me it's easier for them to get me visa using a pdg than with my masters admission..

Do not use agent to complicate issues for you. You have learnt enough here and why will you allow your dad get an agent that will charge you and still complicate application for you. Your case is very easy when denied for insufficient funds, all you have to do is to request for you Gcms file and know the true reason. I was denied for insufficient funds last year, requested for my Gcms file, got the reasons and work on it, now i have my TRV looking at me every morning.

Please run away from the ignorant agent and request your Gcms note.

Sometimes it's not just about program inconsistency.

In your sop, u must highlight your prospects and the opportunity your intending program will afford you. Business administration is keenly related to hrm. Buh maybe you didn't address what your future plans and projection is. Did you state how lucrative the program is ? The VOs want to know if the program you're going for will benefit you career wise in your country upon conclusion of the program. If you don't address this issue there's high probability that the VO would delay you.

These VOs are not God they don't know everything. So it's your job to educate them on the relationship between your previous degree and your intending program. It's not just enough for you to think that because you feel that your previous degree is related to intending program that the VO would know too. Use your sop to adumbrate well on the correlation between your previous degree and your intending program.

Also it's always advisable to talk more on your employment prospects upon conclusion of your program and upon return to your country.

Choose programs that are obviously very much in high demand in Nigeria and make sure you paint the program as very lucrative in Nigeria. The essence of studying abroad is for you to further or upgrade your career and to return to your country. So the vo would want to see how your program will fetch you good paying jobs and opportunities in Nigeria.

@emma4eva, from what we've learnt here, its easier to get TRV with a master's admission than PGD/PGC. The only reason the agent said that is funds related. The amount you'll need to apply with MSC is much higher than that of PGC/PGD. Considering the current exchange rate, your account/sponsors account needs to be well funded before you apply for TRV using MSC. 5million can get you TRV using PGC/PGC.

If I were you, I would use these documents to apply for sowp and visit for ma child. I don't know if you have applied already. Don't waste application fee twice. Apply for sowp straight, she will definitely get it.

20mil was in his acct, I don't think the funds was the issue, I tink it's the sponsorship letter I wrote, it was quite poor. Lacked details.

I don't think so. As long as you got your deferment letter from the school. At POE as long as your paid your tuition for the semester they don't have problem with you.
