Barring last minute change of plans, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has concluded arrangements to arrest Chief Jimi Agbaje.

Chief Agbaje is the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 Lagos state gubernatorial elections.

According to sources within the PDP, he has been endorsed for the chairmanship of the party by PDP governors.

EFCC is plotting to arrest him at the venue of the PDP national convention in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

Agbaje is alleged to have received the sum of $12m from the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

According to our source within the EFCC, the anti-graft agency has been investigating Mr. Agbaje who is also an aspirant for the position of the PDP National Chairman.

EFCC has perfected plans to arrest him for questioning regarding the huge campaign sums he received from the former NSA.

When asked if the timing of the arrest was a ploy to embarrass Mr. Agbaje, our source who pleaded anonymity said he cannot confirm such.

But he only confirmed authoritatively that Agbaje will be picked on Wednesday.

Agbaje, a pharmacist and former Treasurer of the Yoruba sociocultural group, Afenifere was a former member of the Alliance for Democracy (AD).

He later defected to the Democratic Peoples Alliance (DPA) where he contested the 2007 governorship election in Lagos.

In 2014 he joined the Peoples Democratic Party on whose ticket he contested the 2015 guber elections.

He lost to incumbent Governor Akinwumi Ambode of the All Progressive Congress.

And it just so happens that they chose to arrest him at the venue of the convention? If they've suspected him of being a beneficiary of Dasuki's "largesse" all this time, how come it is after he declared for the PDP Chairmanship that they suddenly decided to arrest him? Why not invite him for questioning first, then arrest him if he refuses to show up?

How is it that once anybody rears his head for the PDP,EFCC will raise some allegations against him and lock him up.
This is very Bad for our democracy.

Sometimes,efcc may not have a case against the erson but atleast they would have succeded in incarcerating him for the desired period.
