Sports bring money too and a lot of it... Listen to the commentaries and you'll find out more than 50% of those athletes are on sponsorship or scholarship..

Some athletes aren't even representing their countries of birth or origin... It's passion, seems Ijaw aren't about anything else..
Where exactly are they going to learn the aquatic sports? Have you ever been to the Niger Delta, if you haven't, please SHUT UP. Your post is an insult to people living in those areas.

In this waters abi. Picture this whenever you talk about your aquatic bullcrap......

you people should stop all this lies.. During the discovery of oil, the country was practicing True Federalism so a kobo from cocoa or whatever wasnt invested in Oil.. The IOCs invested there funds in the development of oil..

Please tell the liars, joint venture agreement where the government started contributing some funds came into effect with the Italian oil giant Eni-Agip, that was even at a much later date, after the IOCs had made significant investments in oil exploration and production, anything other than this is turning the truth on its head.

Minister of Education must re-introduce and make HISTORY a compulsory Subject at all levels!

I think it's gonna help the younger Folks to learn how the Revenues generated from the exportation and sales of Cocoa from the West, Groundnuts from North and the Palm Nuts/Oil from the East were used to develop their Region before the discovery of OYEL!

I remembered a time our Teacher asked us to write an Essay on; Is Crude Oil Discovery in Nigeria a Blessing or a Curse?!

If I am asked the same Question now; I would definitely write an excellent Essay on it..... in Summary, it's a CURSE!
You forget Timble, rubber and palm oil in the south south every rigion feed itself stop this dis ground and cocoa saga

I've been in far more Niger delta villages than the average Niger deltan
Stop generalising with a few pictures.
Most of those spills are self inflicted.

What exactly are you saying? You accused me of generalising while at the same time you are neck deep in generalization. " most of this spills are self inflicted". Were you in coma when the oil companies owned up to being responsible for greater portions of the spills?

My quest remains....well since you jumped in as usual to defend and oppose the indefensible, you wouldn't know what exactly is being discussed...... So from your pictures, are you suggesting Niger deltans should practice in those waters against future Olympics?

I never generalized, I only showed you pictures of some Niger delta waterways, so that you can know not all is bad, it doesn't mean all is okay.
I maintain that 75% of those pollutions are self inflicted, majority of pollution in waterways happened pre democracy era, these days most jobs are given to indigenous companies, who are locals use substandard materials and still go ahead to blow up oil lines to get the remediation and welding jobs.
The truth is Ijaws are better divers and fishermen than swimmers, so chill on your anger.
I have stayed in far more diverse riverine communities than most folks.
