Well, that will be left for the heterogeneous regions to worry about. However by that time, no baga will have a reason to scream that the Yoruba people or hausa people are their problem.

Every region can develop homegrown techniques for resolving their own peculiar conflicts
i suggest that every state, should have its own law, police, even defence force. The federal goverment should have a template by which each state should have its own unique law. In fact, every state should act as a republic. If every state had its own defense force,a case such as boko haram wont have lingered to this extent. Do you know why there hasnt been a coup in the US since 1777? Its because,if you take out the President at federal level, you will have to simultaneously take out the governors at ge state level, which is practically not possible.

Patriotic discussion shukuokokubambi & flying angel.

regionalism is not a bad idea my question is who are those leader Tha will take charge?

Without regionalism Lagos and calabar are not doing bad at all.

Take a more critical look at calabar , they are not part of the 13% derivation no functional seaport but they have committed leaders that want development for their people . So it burns down to leaders every state should take a cue from Cross river.
at least, every state will be competing against each other, nobody will want to be left behind.

Nigeria doesn't need all 36 states. USA with an area of 9.857 million km2 and population of over 350million have 52 states. Nigeria with an area of 0.924 million km2 and population of around 180million has 36 states most of which are not viable.

The regions will be better. we could use the 6 we have now instead of the 3 we had at independence.

He was double promoted from Lt. Col to Brigadier. Danjuma & some others were senior to Shehu then.

Remember even if you have two Lt. Colonels, one could be senior if he was made Lt Col first.

While assuaging Northern angst, it also ruined military ethos of seniority. That a junior could be put ahead to suit Northern/religious interest.
It was a downward spiral from there.

A Christian, J. T. Useni who was senior in military but junior in army politics was overlooked & Abdusalam made head of state.
I agreed with you completely, but to me, it was sill the best decision at that time, when you know where Nigeria was coming from few years earlier to that time.
The alternative was to continue the cycle of annual bloodletting in the name of coup.

you are very correct,Nigeria is very small, compared to the US. But you know the ethnic tension we have na. Even in the South East,Ebonyi states is considered outcast,in the South West, lagos and ogun states will be forming superpower, and so on. Singapore is not as big as the smallest state in nigeria, lagos, yet it is a country to be modelled after, why cant we just have 36 Singapores and live in peace.

NEPA... Obasanjo started the Electricity road Map Nigeria is building on today. He unbundled NEPA which was an uphill task.. He also started most of the IPP projects that are still on-going today. Infact the last IPP commissioned by Jonathan (Oloronshogo 2) was already commissioned by Obasanjo during his time.. grin I wonder what GEJ went to commission, maybe an upgrade..

I watched the Minster of solid minerals Omisore talk about the steel companies and the truth is that shiit was fhucked up a long time before Obasanjo. And its been tied up in Arbitration in London for so long and its only now that this government is trying to reach an out of court settlement with the parties concerned. Ask for Delta Steel, I also learnt it was taken over by AMCOn from the concessionaires due to bad debts owed to banks and sold off to another company.

Obasanjo tried to sell off the Refineries and change the NNPC to a full blown company.. This was stone walled by the Senate and other unions. Infact I remember some NNPC offices mysteriously going up in flames when talks of auditing the, came up. grin

The Railway revolution was also started by him. Even the ones being credited to GEJ.

It's so easy to forget he scrapped NITEL and gave way for the telecommunications revolution that has made even cyber cafes obsolete and directly and indirectly created millions of jobs nationwide. When next you grab a mobile phone, remember that before Obasanjo, that was a luxury you would not have been able to afford.. Do you even remember ECONET? grin

Most of the Federal roads under repairs are all Obasanjo that started them. From the Benin - Shagamu to East -West to Owerri - Onitsha to Onitsha - Enugu.. to those in the north as well..

The EFCC was created by him and had remarkable success in prosecuting the likes of Bode George, Tafa Balogun, Alamesigha and Co. .

All this yet being surrounded by the worst set of Governors ever in Nigeria's democracy that had the likes of Ibori, Odili, late Alamesigha, Orji Uzor Kanu, Lucky Igbinedion, Abubakar Audu, Akande and Co. .

Remember he also negotiated and paid off Nigeria's external debts, increase Nigeria's foreign reserves and even set up the excess crude account that helped Nigeria through the global recession period.

Like I said, all things considered, Obasanjo was not actually as bad as people make him out to be.

Thank you very much. Oya prove me wrong.

Was ojukwu a coward or not for running away after leading 3 million kinsmen to their deaths?
Awo was a coward for taking his own life in an attempt to run away from the shame and the ignominy of accepting the fact that he committed treason for the second time.

Remember that Awo blamed everyone but himself for the first treason, But the second treason was irrefutable, and accepting the asylum option IBB offered him will ruin his reputation, as that will confirm he was indeed guilty of the first treason charges that led him to prison.

Now, do you agree with me that Awo was a coward for lying to Yorubas about his first treason and then taking his life to avoid being held accountable for his failed second treason attempt?

OBJ was the "go to" Guy of the CIA.

He does the job with no questions asked.

Murtala had to be eliminated as he was not dancing to the tune of the Western powers that helped him win the war and gave him power. He was naive and thought he could bite the hand that fed him.
He was deactivated with little or no fuss, to serve as an example to future African rulers that will attempt to fall out of hand, and a reliable "Yes" man in OBJ was brought in to keep things in order.

Abacha started proving stubborn and started refusing to play to the tunes of the "masters", yet again they struck, deactivated him and an old reliable "Yes" man in OBJ who was languishing in prison, was yet again called upon by the masters, to keep things in order and in conformance.

OBJ is a lucky man, but because men like him abound in Africa, and are in position of authority, having been empowered by the "enemies" of the African people, Africa will never rise .

Whom did he plan the so called first treason with? Which military men were his accessories? How will a civilian take over the govt without weapons? Shouldn't you apply sense once in a while to analyze these stupid tales you hear from your village square?

Yet you worship a man who RAN AWAY after leading 3 million of your ancestors to foolhardy deaths? Why are you scared to call him the cantankerous coward his father in law and friend called him? cheesy

Will you die if you tell the truth even once? cheesy

FFK is an average Yoruba man with delusional dreams, it's no surprise that his delusions of sleeping with Bianca is shared by his folks, it's genetic. Ndo.

Who cares about your useless village local university named after a coward? Awolowo was found guilty of treasonable felony by Balewa government and also of financial misappropriation, hence why he became a jail bird.

Your assertion makes sense. But every big political decision made for immediate expediency has VERY heavy long term cost & consequences.

Suddenly meritocracy & seniority became expendable. While coup bloodletting cycle did not continue, a pattern soon spilt over from the military into the civilian system, camouflaged as national character, that has entrenched mediocrity.

Remember that Nigeria has not had a constitution written by civilians since 1966. The number of deaths from failure of state occasioned by mediocrity far outweighs any bloodletting that could have resulted from coups. Except you mean that the life of one top military officer or an elite civilian is equal to 100, 000 lives of ordinary masses that have died from poor roads, hunger, poverty, poor medical care, unpaid pensions, police brutality, etc. cheesy grin

I've actually read things like you wrote here a long time ago and was shocked when i read about the offer from the US ambassador to the police IG. It meant the man knew something obviously. Something wasn't right about that coup for sure.
The fact that the US was aware does not mean they were complicit. Although if Murtala had parlayed with them, they would have informed him. One thing that has been proven is that the CIA actually always has more information than our local security apparatus including the DSS. Remember recently how it was reported that Buhari canceled his visit to the ND due to a security report shared by the US.

Who exactly is identifying with FFK? Yoruba delusions are incurable.
FFK is but a typical Yoruba loudmouth, nothing more and not less.

Who the heck is Gold Oruh? grin

If you were IBB, would you do anyless? A coward driven vermin took away his own life and saved you the stress of having to end his miserable life yourself, won't be rather happy and even celebrate his death by naming his yoruboid village university after him? cheesy

Ojukwu dealth heavy blow to the Nigerian Army and if not for the British interference would have over ran the entire. Islamic caliphate of Arewa-Odualand in a matter of days.
The death casualty was more on Nigerian soldiers than on Biafran soldiers, which explained why the vermin resorted to alternative means, ie starvation of the Bia*** civilians.

Coming from a person who didn't before now know the meaning of treason, I can only laugh at the inferior cheap free education the vermin handed out to his people. cheesy

Awolowo was a Coward that committed treason twice, a thief and public treasury lotter that was found guilty of misappropriation of funds, a hardened convict, little wonder Jakande never wasted time rating out the vermin to IBB for his own share of the Nigerian war spoils. Does Akintola and his family members have any good thing to say about the Vermin? grin

The worst Coward in history was Awolowo who was used and dumped and was seen in 1979 coming to Igboland to canvass for vote from the same people he tried to exterminate, a shameless vermin who was caught saying that Nigeria was a mere geographical expression, yet did all Within his treacherous means, including swallowing his vomitus all in a futile misguided attempt at ruling Nigeria. grin

You are a pathetic Yoruba man, it's in your genetic make up to be delusional. It was Uche Chukwumerije who led the campaign in the Senate that killed OBJ third term plans, Ken Nnamani put the final nail on the greedy Yoruba man 3rd term ambitions.

Now tell me, what brand of rat poison did the vermin use in ending his miserable diabolic life? Was it Otapiapia or was it "Oke rie onwu o"? grin grin

Lifestone:
Obasanjo is always an opportunist, a vulture who most time eat off the efforts of others while he himself does little or nothing.
History is there to confirm this, he ate off Benjamin Adekunle during the civil war and ended up signing the defeat warrant of Biafra, he didn't plan coup in 1976 but became the Head of State while those who planned the coup were killed, he was in the prison when the foundation of PDP was laid and today he got the best of the party.
Maybe that's why he is called "Ebora Owu"
Na so. If u say obj is an opportunist then I think gej is a super opportunist.. jst saying tho...
