When my wife was pregnant with our son,like every couple we started making suggestions of the name we were going to call him, after lot of names screening, I I suggested Jesus, she screamed noooo....pls nooooooo.i asked her why? She said I shouldnt even ask.
then..I silently asked myself ,what is wrong naming your child that name.in Spain,South America countries, there are lot of people answering that name.so why Nigeria and some Africa countries are different?

Is not good at all, d name Jesus is holy and we all know he has no sin so why name ur sinful child Jesus? Those countries u mention the name 'Jesus' does not mean saviour it has different meaning

Actually, it's not appropriate especially in Nigeria/Africa, and just like the guy above me said, in those countries Jesus have a different meaning to them and they are in no way referring to the Jesus described in the Bible.

But if anyone tries that here, he/she is referring to the true Jesus because we don't have any other meaning for that name here.
And considering the status/position of Jesus in our religion, that name is sacred and should be reserved for him alone.

There's nothing wrong naming your child Jesus but our highly religious society will frown against it
What differentiate Jesus (in the Bible) from jesus(as a name)is the "christ".The Christ is the uniqueness of Jesus(in the Bible) from all other Jesuses

There's nothing wrong in calling your child Jesus. Its just that most Christians are so overly religious without actually being that spiritual. They think calling your child Jesus is the same as equating him with God. Ironically they don't have any problem with naming their child Emmanuel which is also the name of Jesus Christ himself.
