Whatever advice the imf gives is for the best interest of this country
just like the SAP advice they gave to us in the 80's. IMF and IBRD will neva give 3rd world countries advice dat will liberate their economies, rather suggestions dat will kill the economy in the longrun.

Do you really mean what you wrote above?IMF and World Bank are like the devil that gives one a goat and collects one's son in return.,we need to be careful of their advises.

Hmmm.... can you name just one developing country... just one .... that took IMF/World Bank loan and things did not get worse for that country? I dare you to use your whatever is between your years.
World Bank/IMF advice...like always... privatize state utilities.... devalue the currency... freeze wages.... reduce state employees and relax rules and regulations to encourage foreign exploiters investors.
Gbam only fools and intellectually lazy people including copy and paste economist would buy such prescription. not to also forget saboteurs and fifth columnist, they are a present in every administration to cause damage

Very sound statement and I full agree. We have nothing to gain from the IMF
bjdon:
I am not a Buhari supporter, but I am with him 100% on this.

Nobody can show me one third world country that has developed by following IMF/World Bank prescriptions. People need to understand that these organizations simply act to enslave third world nations for the good of their western financial masters. We have everything that is required for a prosperous nation(Natural resources, fertile land, educated population) all we need is a serious focused govt to put in place the right polices so that all these attributes can come together for economic growth. We do not need the IMF/World Bank
Granted , no country is under any obligation to follow IMF's advice since they
can't be trusted.

But what I found appalling is the tendency of African leaders to blame
foreign agents for all their woes and the citizens get distracted from
asking the right questions.

Countries such as China and Singapore who were able to pull out of
the poverty mess didn't do so by showing how anti-IMF they are in
seminars but by sitting down at home and thinking and implementing
economically-positive programs.

Initial gra-gra (IGG). He will soon turn around to implement those recommendations the same way he devalued the naira.
No knowledge based convinction from this man.

If taking these loans will make the present economy any better and ease the sufferings of Nigerians then he should.

The topic is misleading even though I would have agreed. He only made a suggestion that Africans should seek homegrown solution to its challenges.

Lol just take a look at this idiot, who do you think is your mate or do you think being on a forum with children like you makes you think you can open that waste bin you call mouth and talk anyhow. Where were your parents self when I was born? I bet their parents had never even courted. Better make enquiries and get reliable information before you talk. The admin of this forum realy needs to install some age restriction procedures for children like you who not respecting their elders makes them just being deliberately stupíd. Your mother must have forgotten to teach you manners sha. She deserves to be flogged. Useless child.
And you are also making the same silly mistake you are accusing me of, thinking you are the oldest in the world.

By the way, this isn't about who is older or younger, it is about using one's common sense, that is if you have any, which I think is suppose to come with your age. Because how do you describe a supposedly adult, with all the wisdom that supposedly come with his age, to make a such a reckless statement, out of hatred for the country's leadership ....
[s]"Whatever advice the imf gives is for the best interest of this country"[/s]
. It surely sound idiotic. Elementary economics, at least from SSS1 text book, has been teaching even kids of now-a-days that countries in Africa need to thread softly with the IMF and World Bank.

Perhaps I need to school you a little, of how Nigeria borrowed an estimate of about $5billion and we ended paying more than 50% of the principal amount as interest. This starts sometimes in the early 80s, when I'm sure you were not born yet. Therefore, one can excuse your ignorance. In conclusion, I still advice that you grow up, not necessarily in age or physique but in thinking and character

Unfortunately Buhari's economic blueprint are not helping matters.

It didn't in 1984 and it won't now.

Anyway its not by force, market forces will force Buhari to have a rethink

What a pity, that this is what you have to offer, when I'm already dusting my books of vocabulary. I thought I was going to get an e-fight that will make us throw big-big grammar around while trying to make reasonable point. I thought we will have to go deep into research on how the IMF and world bank assisted our selfish leaders in bringing this country down to her kneels. I was looking forward to educating the kid in you of how Europe under developed Africa. Only for you to chicken out with your likes usual rethorics at the strike out. Enjoy your weekend if you would.

I don't think taking the loan will help anything

As it is now.. Nigeria should be aiming for long term goals not short term

Wr enough gbese on our head already.. Let's just fix it now once and for all

IMF and world bank are just looking for ways to control Nigeria and the more we are indebted to them the more vulnerable we are
