HydrogenForest:You're a clown. More like they've fed all your Igbo and Northern states - while the rest made a lot of pilfering people rich. Based on how utter poor Nigeria is (the index for emerging cities in Africa posted a few days ago showed how the income/population growth index alluded to how Nigerian cities are by far the poorest in Africa), the oil is actually inconsequential in the scheme of things. Yoruba fared better without your and Lagos alone has contributed far more revenue to Nigeria since independence, than all the SWern states have received from Nigeria during the same period. A cursory look across all SW states also adds credence to this. And Lagos also shelters a large percentage of the SS population disproportionately. Evidently, for the relationship to be symbiotic - the siting of the headquarters of oil companies is a fair deal in exchange for that. Not trying to be rude but if you can't see that, your brain cells might need a reboot or an upgrade. |

The reason among others why the headquarters is in Lagos/Abuja is so the management of Exxonmobil can interface directly with government and buyers. With the advent of technology, companies even outsource their HR to other countries! In the interest of peace, it wont be out of place for Mobil to move their administrative headquarters to Uyo from Lagos. |

Shymm3xx:You shut up and stop telling us of cocoa era. Yoruba states have been crying like other states in Nigeria due to the crises in the oil industry. The only real functioning seaport in Nigeria today is located in Apapa Lagos and it was built by the FG using oil money. Do you know how much that seaport has contribuited to making Lagos what it is today? Stop telling lies. SS oil has been used to take care of every state in Nigeria including your Yoruba states. Again, Lagos is what it is today because of the collective effort of all Nigerians and not just Yorubas. Lmao at being rude, you can be as rude as you want but be sure that I can get as low as required. Nuff said. |

lafuria1:It's funny you are trying to reason with these guys. They simply need the headquarters relocated so that they can go back to kidnapping foreign expats. The kidnapping business has since slowed down due to the mass exudes of foreigners from the region hence daily sighting of new militant groups. |

jneutron4000:So it was cocoa money that was used to build Apapa seaport? So it was cocoa money that was used to build 3rd mainland bridge? So it was cocoa money that was used to build Federal palace hotel and others.. I don't blame you. |

Asinine statements as this is why these guys will forever be looked upon as dregs. You kidnap them, molest their families and blow up their facilities, yet you want to make them setup their HQ in your community by force. That's brilliant, right? Moreover, a company can site its HQ anywhere. Don't they have operational offices in the ND? Silly people. |

Goke7: Unserious fellows? Do to others what you want for yourself. The Nigeria politics will not remain the same for ever. The politics of keeping headqtrs and controlling employment. ....placing certain tribe in all things is temporary. I pray every state ... local govt and compound in Nigeria soon have their oil wells. I hope lagosians will be happy if the headqtr of the 4 wells.. 10 thousands barrels oil company is in kano state. Na wao for una |

geraob1:Mugu, you can direct your cries to Mobil a multi-national company who feel like having a higher proportion of Yoruba staffs than other Nigerians. Abi na Yoruba man get Mobil again or Yorubas went to protest to Mobil not to employ other Nigerians because that is what is implied in your idiotic assertion :" they progress by stifling others economically.. ". Your hate will only make Yorubas continue to soar higher. Before it was the shout of our oyel, when your oil in the SE is not up to what we have in the SW, with Lagos joining Ondo state. Ogun is next in line, while you continue your attache by force to the SS. |

OsuIbo:shut the heck up.......you tribalist blap.....i know the west as well as you do so reserve you energy......among the whole ND Akwa Ibom seams to be more peaceful yet the parasitic state that enjoys the priviledge of former nations capital felt they are there in merit...Technical training centre in Scotland is sited where the oil is produced......most of the oil companies in US are sited at Texas, in Paris go to montrouge , in Norway the same thing even at Canada is at Alberta......you dont have moral justification to spew about ND because you are directly a beneficiary .......There is no place that is as peaceful as ND oil companies have been in the region more than 50 years now instead of closing more are coming up e.g Chinopec that bought over Addax, so dont tell us about investors.......most of the international firms have been towing our line saying is not done like this in their side so stop being a key board judge....ND love strangers as well as investors we will never kill our investors.....it is injustice like this that make people to take drastic steps, Attah fought for this yet OBJ turn deaf ears but instead fought to return NIMASA and NPA from Abuja to Lagos who is fooling who....we are not pursuing people but we are fighting injustice....stop preaching that thrash of scaring investors through agitation........if it is through that medium investors will abandon the area so be it....Justice delayed is not justice denied.....put that to your skull....Mr sophisticated |

You people ought to go and find jobs for the militants biko. The Mobil you are all shouting about is just one of the many firms no one thinks about in Lagos. The cosmopolitant nature of the city swallows corperate entities up so much that every one has to hustle hard for relevance. If they actually leave, it will actually do a lot of people many good and they will never be missed. I am sure their properties all around the city will have a lot of investors queuing up to acquire, so don't think it will be a huge unfillable void for Lagos. In this age of green energy and all, oil is still titillating these folks, keep at it, your eyes will open soon. |

Beadex1:I don't quite understand you. There's no mobil platform, Eket. There's an airstrip, and it's at least 60% manned by Akwa Ibomites. Qua Iboe Terminal (QIT) at Ibeno, is definitely 75%+ Akwa Ibomites. I don't have issues with the company moving headquaters, but lets stick to facts when discussing this. |
