Our similarities far outweigh our tiny differences by a wide margin.

First, we all suffer when things are bad, and enjoy when things are good.
We all look to the future with the same hopes, aspirations and fears.

We all want affordable, quantity education for our children.
We all want affordable basic amenities, safety, law and order and justice for ourselves, our families, our friends and relatives.

We all go to the same schools, learn the same things, shop at the same markets, cheer together in times of joy, cry together in times of tragedy.

It is politics and politicians that always attempt, albeit successfully, in putting wedges between the different ethnic nationalities of Nigeria.

Between my Yoruba, Edo, Fulani and Ibibio close friends, I see no differences in outlook, dreams and aspirations except when it comes to national politics.
This is when old stereotypes and prejudices creep out of the woodworks.

Forget about all these online bickerings. In real life, Nigerians of every ethnic group get along very well.

In politics, it's a different matter.

Take, for example Mohammadu Buhari. After winning the most peaceful and groundbreaking election in Nigerian history, the pompous demagogue, missing a golden moment of UNITY and goodwill, did the least common sense thing a leader ever could do, by boldly and publicly telling the people who didn't vote for him in a DEMOCRATIC election, not to expect to be treated in the same way as those that voted for him.

From that moment, Nigeria became even more divided.

You see? An elected poly-trick-cian deliberately putting a wedge between the citizenry.
Shame on him.

Not possible, what divides us is much greater than what brings us together. We are divided along, cultural,religious, ethnic and ideological lines while the only thing that keeps us together is Oil.

Pro Biafra agitators have once again showcased their love for leader and Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu as well as the Biafra struggle by flooding the popular Ariaria International market situated in Aba, Abia state with shoes designed in the colours of the Biafran flag.



This is coming few months after members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) claimed soft drink company Coca-Cola was supporting their cause after pictures purportedly showing some Coca-Cola cans with the words “Nnamdi Kanu” and “Biafrans” emerged on micro blogging site, Twitter.

Although they have been granted bail twice by a federal high court sitting in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari’s led government has refused to obey the court orders raising doubts over the possibility of Mr. Kanu and his co-accused regaining freedom.

It goes beyond tribalism, I think it's the fear of losing petrodollars and the threat of what they(igbos) will become if given the chance to manage their resources and develop at their own pace.

But for me all these can be sorted out through dialogue.
