I'm an Igbo man. Im not going to bow down to Northern tyranny like the other tribe we all know too well. The law allows me to wear any shoe of any colour. If Bubu and his 'Gestapo' Government decides to jail me or torture me then so be it. Nobody ever said that standing up to oppression is a painless venture. I must wear this shoe publicly whenever I get my hands on it.

One thing that impresses me so much is how passionate the igbos are whenever the word biafra is mentioned,

Believe me, this people can change Africa for good if their potential and passion is effectively harnessed.

How i wish Nigerian authorities can invite them to the dialogue table.
where are you from? You need to draft a letter to the Nigerian president with this heading tags.

Not true.

Our similarities far outweigh our tiny differences by a wide margin.

First, we all suffer when things are bad, and enjoy when things are good.
We all look to the future with the same hopes, aspirations and fears.

We all want affordable, quantity education for our children.
We all want affordable basic amenities, safety, law and order and justice for ourselves, our families, our friends and relatives.

We all go to the same schools, learn the same things, shop at the same markets, cheer together in times of joy, cry together in times of tragedy.

It is politics and politicians that always attempt, albeit successfully, in putting wedges between the different ethnic nationalities of Nigeria.

Between my Yoruba, Edo, Fulani and Ibibio close friends, I see no differences in outlook, dreams and aspirations except when it comes to national politics.
This is when old stereotypes and prejudices creep out of the woodworks.

Forget about all these online bickerings. In real life, Nigerians of every ethnic group get along very well.

In politics, it's a different matter.

Take, for example Mohammadu Buhari. After winning the most peaceful and groundbreaking election in Nigerian history, the pompous demagogue, missing a golden moment of UNITY and goodwill, did the least common sense thing a leader ever could do, by boldly and publicly telling the people who didn't vote for him in a DEMOCRATIC election, not to expect to be treated in the same way as those that voted for him. huh

From that moment, Nigeria became even more divided.

You see? An elected poly-trick-cian deliberately putting a wedge between the citizenry. shocked
Shame on him.
Why do you think you don't have good roads? Why do you think you have no light? Why do you think Nigeria is the mess that it is? It is because nobody believes in the Nigerian project. When people get into power, they take their own share of the National cake and run away. Nigeria does not work as a nation because everyone is interested in their own sectional interest. Not every marriage will work, not every partnership will work and not every Union will work. Nigeria has not worked since the British left in 1960 to this day. To this day, the Hausa/Yoruba/Igbo man don't see themselves as brothers and they routinely kill themselves to emphasise this. Praying for a union that has not worked in more than 50 years to work now is like praying for snow to fall in the Sahara Desert, it might happen but common sense tells me not to hold my breath.

As an Igbo man, I won't actually rock those shoes. Its not disloyalty, its just that those shoes won't really match any cloth cus As much as I searched /category/Men here on Needleplus , I didn't see any style inspirations for this fashion apparition. Try it yourself. I doubt.
The same way am not gonna click on that silly link.

I can rock the shoe with my white 'senator' dress. It'll really match.

Where i'm from is of little relevance here.

That said,
No one needs to write the president because I believe he fully understands the points i raised.
This is evident from the statement credited to his SSA (Garba Shehu) where he acknowledged that Nigeria inherited massive technology from biafra which they unfortunately failed to build upon.

I think the problem is the fear of losing control the petrodollars and this is where i believe that learned people from the president's region(those he can trust) must step in to disabuse his mind so that he can see that true greatness goes beyond having a huge population and petrodollars

I hate to join the prayer warriors(coz they pray but don't work)
But i pray that one day we'll get to that level where we'll support one another rather than suppress and oppress them.

Let's continue to preach love brother.

Pro Biafra agitators have once again showcased their love for leader and Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu as well as the Biafra struggle by flooding the popular Ariaria International market situated in Aba, Abia state with shoes designed in the colours of the Biafran flag.

This is coming few months after members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) claimed soft drink company Coca-Cola was supporting their cause after pictures purportedly showing some Coca-Cola cans with the words “Nnamdi Kanu” and “Biafrans” emerged on micro blogging site, Twitter.

Meanwhile, IPOB members who made the foot wears will be hoping the high demand of the products will help hasten the release of their leader Nnamdi Kanu who has been in prison custody since he was arrested in October 2015 by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Lagos, Nigeria.Other tribe appreciate this but, let other tribes do this, the madness in that region will go against it. keep it up, we love it.

Recall Kanu alongside his co-accused, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi are facing a six-count charge of treasonable felony, brought against them by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Although they have been granted bail twice by a federal high court sitting in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari’s led government has refused to obey the court orders raising doubts over the possibility of Mr. Kanu and his co-accused regaining freedom.

It goes beyond tribalism, I think it's the fear of losing petrodollars and the threat of what they(igbos) will become if given the chance to manage their resources and develop at their own pace.

But for me all these can be sorted out through dialogue.

The same people that abandon their ancestral land for their enemy's own? They cannot use the so called creativity to create development and advancement in their own land but bent on developing Yorubaland? Tell me another thing Jare.

I don't promote hate!

But just in case you don't know, there are thousands of Indians, Chinese and other foreigners doing business in Nigeria (which is good for our economy) so i didn't see what's wrong with Nigerians doing business in any part of Nigeria.

We have our differences but #letsstopthehate, and # preachlove.
