Backup Phone Contacts With Gmail, Google

Losing a phone has various setbacks, losing your contacts is one of the major setbacks. why? Well there are some very important contacts you know you might never get your hands on again thus putting you at a point of regret. If you have ever misplaced your device without backing up your contacts or copying them out on a diary then you totally know how hurting it can be to lose contacts.

The old way of backing up your contacts has always been, copying out your all the numbers on your phone into a diary. Now the big question would be. what if you have over a 2500 contacts?. It would probably take forever to copy all out.

Now for me? I save all my contacts on my Gmail (google mail). so if i ever lose my phone or change my phone i don't have to copy contacts to/from a book or sim card to my new phone. saving contacts to gmail account is one of the best ways to ensure you of a secured contact list. For me all i'll have to do is sign in my Gmail account a new phone, and my contacts will be automatically synchronized with my new device.

How To Backup Phone Contacts To Gmail From Android.

I'll show you some easy to understand steps to backup contacts to your google account.

Now if you don't have a google account on your device, lets briefly touch that before proceeding with backing up. If you already have a Google account on your phone, skip this step.

Step 4:
Navigate through the list of accounts and select Google.

Step 5:
A questionnaire/survey will pop up, correctly fill in your details, choose a gmail name and password that you wont easily forget and there you have it. Your google account has been created.

Now let's move on.

Backup Your Contacts Via Gmail.

Step 1:
Open your phone contacts and tap on the utility/option button, and you will see and option like Import/export. Tap on it.

You will then see another interface asking you where you want to copy to. Select your google account.

If u are using an android phone, all u need to do is just sign into ur gmail account on setup, it automatically saves ur contacts.

Its a life saver, my phone crashed on me the morning I was going to someone's office, and I needed to call before am allowed into the premises. I simply went to a cafe, logged into gmail, at the buttom left corner there's a provision to download ur contacts in different formats. Downloaded and printed my entire contact list in 4 A4 paper.

Loosing your contacts is one thing that happens often with all of us. You might have forgotten your login in password, your webmail account was compromised, our your phone/device stolen. You can prevent the lose of your contacts by saving all your contacts in one place that can save up 5000 contacts; Yahoo Mail. All it takes is just to create a yahoo mail account and then follow the import contacts instructions. And you are safe. You can learn how to import and export contact on yahoomail here: http://techbloga.com/import-export-contacts-yahoo-mail/

Thanks dear. Though will try accessing the backed up contacts later. What one don't know is ahead of him. I've suffered so much in the hand of lost contacts, either by lost or spoilt phone.
And for those talking I'll of it and those that've been using it, you should've shared this with us since.
Once I'm able to retrieve my backed up contacts, I'll be so happy. But I noticed while I copied it to email address, it duplicated the contacts, looking for means to delete the duplicates without mistakes.
Thanks once more
