Anambra state should stop deceiving themselves as anambra is 40 together with IMO state...the both states were created in 1976 from east central state..

is just a correction for those who lack history....some will argue it was old anambra that is 40 then what about old IMO state, is it not also 40years yet the present IMO state NEVER denies been 40

IMO STATE inherited Owerri capital on creation of Abia State and so is 40yrs.
While ENUGU Inherited Enugu city and Anambra started afresh in Awka capital 25yrs ago.

Old Anambra State was created in 1976 from part of East Central State, and its capital was Enugu. A further re-organisation in 1991 divided Anambra into two states, Anambra and Enugu. The capital of Anambra is Awka.

My question, since Enugu as a capital of old anambra state was lost to new Enugu state will you also say that new enugu state is 40 years BC the capital is 40 years??

If your answer is yes then the same goes to Anambra state and vice versa

I think there is a difference between Old Anambra state and Anambra State

I noticed ds wrong info on news days ago,and hav been wondering where d mistake came from,..cos I knw anambra and imo have been in existence 2geda for atleast 30yrs now

Old Anambra (Enugu) was created in 1976, a new state was not created or carved out from old Anambra but it was split into 2 new states namely Anambra (Awka) and Enugu (Enugu), therefore both new states are created on the same day like a twin. So the new Anambra is 25 and not 40.
