Police Role In Aborted Arrest Of Judge In Rivers Exposed by ipreach: 10:49am On Oct 11, 2016
Vivid details of the role played by the police in Rivers State during the aborted arrest of a judge of the Federal High court in Port Harcourt, in the early hours of Saturday emerged yesterday, after sources disclosed that the Directorate of State Services, DSS, in the state informed the Commissioner of Police about the operation before it started.

It was gathered that the DSS in the state had earlier called to inform the Commissioner of Police, Francis Odesanya, that his men were going to effect the arrest. The police boss reportedly complied accordingly by directing his men to cooperate and give them all necessary support.

According to police sources, it was in the early hours of the morning and nobody would have been expected to open his doors freely to visitors, so, the judge refused to open his doors to DSS officials.

The source said: “The DSS office shares the same fence with that of the judge. If they had wanted to accomplish the arrest successfully without much fuss, there are many options left for them.

‘’They should have either scaled the fence to enter the compound or gone with the necessary instruments for the operation.

‘’The governor arrived there with a retinue of members of his cabinet and members of the House of Assembly. While the DSS operatives were dilly-dallying, the governor and his team started obstructing them.

“When the situation was getting intolerable around 1am, the Commissioner of Police arrived the scene. He spoke with the DSS boss and later went to persuade the governor to allow them do their work advising that if there was any breach, it should follow due process later.

‘’The commissioner of police reportedly insisted that the governor should not obstruct justice. When the governor refused to give way, the police boss ordered his ADC to move away from the scene and he complied.

‘’The DSS attempted to move in but the governor, again without his ADC and other policemen that accompanied him who were obeying the Cp’s order, started obstructing them.”

This, according to sources, was the stand-off until around 4am when journalists and other interested parties arrived.

Wike is indeed lucky to be alive. How can he obstruct an order of arrest from the federal government all because he has skeleton in his closet. If the Dss operatives pulled their trigger on him that day, it would be termed as unknown agent and at worst his deputy would be sworn in as governor. No sane person will dare the federal might. The police commissioner he took a long with him answers directly to the IG who is an appointee of the federal government. Just like GEJ withdrew Amaechi's security detail, Buhari can order the same for wike and heaven will not fall. Power pass power. When they loot and steal billions they all forget human rights of affected citizens and rules of law. When it's time for prosecution, they will start screaming rule of law and due process and the same nigerians who are shortchanged will be supporting the political thieves.

Sane Nigerians are behind the arrest of judges and other corrupt members of the political class. Some call buhari a dictator but if dictatorship is what is required to sanitize the system you have the support of patriotic Nigerians. Invade the home of looters, break their doors and safes with sledge hammers, brutalize them with your DSS and make them pay for short changing the state. We must sanitize the country for the upcoming generations

So you mean governor Wike kept vigil from 1:00-4:00am there about at the judge residence? Haba, this is absurd & weird.

There is definitely a grand conspiracy between the CP and Wike. The CP was just at the scene to fulfill all righteousness and act as a window dresser.

This kind of cawardice induced naughty thinking is the very reason Nigeria has remained in socio-political bondage for 112 102 years.

On the contrary, only ignorant kids and insane adults would support impunity and governmental intimidation in any guise.

Need I argue with someone who does not know the value of freedom?

One day you'd wake up from your opium utopia induced slumber to realize that there was no change anywhere except that your hatred for the rich and successful folks have been massively exploited by your god to consolidate its power and political influence.

Funny people...

Neither the Dss nor the Police where willing to arrest the man..

Did u ask why
if they share same fence, why use his obstructed gate when certainly u would still pull down the gate to gain entrance...

Abi the walls re guarded by evil spirits leaving out the gate..
