There is no need jubilate or antagonize others over this news because it still not show we are out of the wood yet.
The best solution is a solution that puts an end to the issue of militancy ever again which this is not about.
I am a strategic and long term person. I prefer to kill and bury a problem than to relieve the immediate pains.
The question is whether there is still a chance of this nonsense 2.,4,6,8,10 years from now? and what shape and impact it will take? I want to see a country where militancy never comes cos there is no need.
While we are temporarily out of the wood, this is the best time to take a strategic look about problems in this country and address them from the root cause even if it means a radical and fundamental change.
At the end of the day, there is nothing bettet than a peaceful and prosperous nation instead of always being at a dangerous edge all the time.

The Avengers have taken a drastic step before it gets too late. This release by the Avengers is just a mere sophistry, it is baseless and it has no positive consequence. Their sponsor GEJ has told them to back down for now because they have realised that the public sympathy is no more there, meaning that the general public will not pity the region by the time the Nigerian Army start leveling the area, even their elders have are no more in support of their nefarious attitude. President Buhari knew exactly who their sponsors are but they are untouchable because of the danger it will pose to the unity of the nation.

The stupid spokesman was talking about protest that happened in developed world like Japan, Germany etc, does those protesters subject their country to destruction of infrastructures?

I just pray this will be the last of bombings of oil facilities.

you spoke the words outta my mouth..it is inevitable. Time shall surely come when their cries shall get to the high heavens for total restructuring..let them continue to wag their tails and celebrate whilst hungry, suffering and smilling as if the cessation is some kinda hitting the jackpot. Nigeria is a land of dreamers living in fools' paradise.

Yeah, made up of noisy bomb and run criminals that wet their pants and capitulate at the sight of military rehearsals by his army cheesy

Let us hear 'ween' again and see how your entire region will be turned into a huge military barracks. I'm sure you realize the smiling crocodile isn't going anywhere until the brain reset is complete.

If na true Gej is behind them, then he bleeped up big time all because you lost an election? Its not suppose to be do or die affair. As for Avengers, this is great news. We Nigerian love your ceasefire. At least let Nigeria experience total peace and progress. I careless who becomes the president, just bring peace and progress to the stable.
It has always been their plan from Day 1.

This happened in January 2015.
Niger Delta militants meet in Yenagoa,
threaten war should Jonathan lose presidential election

Prominent Niger Delta militants have vowed to
ensure that President Goodluck Jonathan wins
the February 14 presidential election.

Mr. Jonathan is of the Ijaw ethnic stock, and
the only member of a minority tribe to have
ever governed Nigeria.

The former militants, who said any attempt to
dethrone the President would be seen as a
direct attack on the Ijaw nation, threatened to
unleash violence on the country and take back
Niger Delta oil should Mr. Jonathan loses re-
election.

According to them the President’s victory in the
election is not negotiable.

The former militant leaders took the position
Friday in Government House, Yenagoa, the
Bayelsa State capital, at an enlarged meeting
that was attended by all the former militant
leaders and their followers across the Niger
Delta region.

Among those in attendance were, Mujahid
Dokubo-Asari, leader, Niger Delta Peoples
Volunteer Force, Victor Ben Ebikabowei, aka,
Boy Loaf, and Government Ekpudomenowei,
aka, Tompolo.

Also in attendance were the Special Adviser to
the President on Niger Delta Affairs, and
chairman of Amnesty Implementation
Committee, Kingsley Kuku, Bayelsa state Governor, Seriake Dickson and his deputy, President General of Ijaw Youth Council, Udengs Eradiri, among others.

Addressing the meeting, Dokubo-Asari
deplored the alleged intimidation being meted
to the people of Ijaw stock in Nigeria, saying
the people cannot take it any longer.

”For every Goliath, God created a David. For
every Pharoah, there is a Moses. “We are going
to war. Everyone of you should go and fortify
yourself,’’ he said.

He advised those at the meeting to be ready for
the battle ahead and declared that Mr.
Jonathan would win reelection.

Mr. Dokubo-Asari, who condemned the attack
on Jonathan in the north in the ongoing
presidential campaigns, maintained that the
survival of the Ijaw nation rests in the hands of
the militants gathered at the meeting.

This is big ups to our security boys. MEND and the Okah boys killed the NDA with just two press releases and passed on huge security intelligence to The Nigerian Security agencies, we knew it was just a matter of time before all of them get killed by the soldiers or rounded up to face prosecution. I think government should still go ahead and prosecute all of them and their political sponsors including GEJ (imagine a former president backing people to bring down his own nation) who was alleged to have even given them the name 'Avenger' shocked for economic crimes and murder of our innocent soldiers.
Anything short of this will mean that crime pays. These Ijaw boys messed up Big time and in fact, they made most Nigerians regret the day GEJ came to power on the trust of Nigerians in the North and South.
Whenever, I read the garbage you spew most times here which contradicts your moniker...I begin to see justification for the position of Nigeria as it is today...good morning!!!

I like the way you think. Our people have no idea how the world works. Dem go dey worship "whitey" while getting ràpèd. We have a lot of work to do.
So unfortunate my brother.

The whites know thatl we live for the moment and nothing more. They are aware we neither scrutinize the past nor plan for the future. We hardly even make effort to look at trends or connect the dots. When we make attempt to sketch something like a plan, it all ends in shallow wishful conjectures. Then we start making excuses or blaming people, things, circumstances etc.

This is not a matter of if Avengers are mighty or not, the question these Yorubas fail to ask is, are most of their demands not reasonable? Why do some people support injustice because you're strong and the people intimidated are weak like you people are making it seem.
"Yorubas" have the rein of the Nigerian government, right? Yorubas do not claim being 'strong', rather 'sensible'.

Yes, their demands are not reasonable, period.

Pepper soup militants, they were never fighting for any real cause and therefore true motivation to fight but for money to sustain their lazy lavish lifestyle of women, wine and parties; the cowards have no mettle to face the army especially now that their hidden sponsors have been unmasked - they no longer have anywhere to run or hide but surrender.
Let this be a lesson to those that still believe that they can hold this country to ransom or insult her at every whim, as Nigerians have shown the resolve to resist such threats and deal with these miscreants - let those that have a penchant to call this a zoo take note, for they to will be next.
As for the sponsors of the militants, I hope the FG will not relent till they are found and dealt decissively so that no one would to dream let alone venture into such action again.

I said Yorubas because Hausas are out of the question here. apart from the North, the only region impeding the break up or restructuring of Nigeria is the West. how are their demands not sensible? it's their land. you don't know the damage this exploration is causing in their land. don't ask me if the bombings are not causing more damage. it's causing more damage but there is no other way to get to this wicked government apart from that means. the government doesn't want dialogue. they shout dialogue while they're hatching a plan. Things need to be done differently in Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole. Supporting Nigeria against the Niger Delta will only spell doom for Nigeria. Things need to change.

Better advantage to the government is that it now has better chance of dictating the process of the 'dialogue'. Concessions can only be moderate.

Nice one now NDA should go back to their villages nd start planning how to move their community forward am yoruba but i don't see why if the ss/se want their own country it should be a problem but my advice to them is to find a better method to use violence is never the solution pls if u are looking for another means just remember what Scotland did.

My friend gather your tail between your legs and scram jor cheesy, the person that was hailing the economic saboteurs at the expense of his daily survival and ecosystem now claims he didn't want to sabotage the government... You sound even more cowardly than the fleeing scavengers as you eat your words and swallow your vomit cheesy

How do you feed the nation? By being born above the nation's resources and sitting drunk lazying about all day while you destroy your environment for peanuts? Then what do the thousands of northern farmers do? Starve the nation? Delusion of grandeur reloaded cheesy

I hope you've been following the trends; large mineral deposits including oil were being explored in the North while you were blowing pipelines and spilling the oil on your farms and rivers. Foreign investors have been trooping into Lagos, Ogun and Kaduna while you were making your region too volatile for investors, ironically at the same time Lagos got its first foreign order for oil.

So now do you own the oil blocs? Have the IOC's migrated to the ND? Do you now have the regional structure? Has NK been released? Have ANY demands by the scavengers been honored? Most importantly, are they now closer to getting their demands now that they've cowered to the superiority of the military forces and intelligence?

You've 'suffered' the economy abi the economy 'suffered' you? Na with this kind Engrish dem employ you for rig cheesy? Kids.

Now you know that you cannot blackmail this government with violence. You will be crushed. Now go back to your hut and find some periwinkle to roast. The party is over.
