It boils down to optimisation bro, iOS is a light clean operating system with no skin unlike android which is already heavy, throw in heavy skins and bad optimisations you get with OEM manufacturers you start seeing the rationale for these 4000 to 5000 mah phones we are now seeing especially in Chinese devices..

The iPhone 6plus s with its 2915mah can last for two days with moderate use, the guy might be correct. My sister has the 6plus s and the battery is a complete beast, am even considering getting one just because of that.. The 6plus is equally good on battery according to report..
