They are relocating to the grazing areas provided by the state government as stated in the law. This is to be able to comply with the new law.

Nowhere in that bill was the word FULANI mentioned.

No restriction has been placed on the movements of any Fulani person in Nigeria.

Cattle rearing is not banned in Ekiti.. Try reading the bill first. All they have done is regulate the herding and grazing of cattle in the state.

They have time periods within which their cattle can walk around freely, sort of like what has been done with Okadas..

They also have created areas where the cattle can graze.. Grazing outside those assigned grazing zones are illegal.

NOBODY has tagged them killers, but there is no denying that alot of people have been attacked and killed by Herdsmen.

Talking about banning them from moving around with weapons is a moot point as IT IS ILLEGAL FOR ANYBODY TO CARRY AN UNLICENSED FIREARM AROUND IN NIGERIA..

I find your post to be utterly ridiculous to start with. Grazing reserves is not the answer to the issue of Herdsmen attacks or cattle snatching by Rustlers. Ranching is the answer to that. These Cows should be in ranches not allowed to roam the streets and highways causing traffic gridlocks, littering the streets with feaces, wandering into farmlands and destroying food crops and cash crops and causing accidents from time to time. This is 2016 not 1886. The creation of Grazing reserves Nationwide should never be supported. If the Government does, then the Government would have to provide other such supports for other businesses as well. Those cattle are someone business. I even doubt those herdsmen pay taxes to the Government from the sales of their Cows, so how do you justify the Government giving them special concessions especially in foreign lands outside their states of origin with other tax payers monies?

The Grazing Bill is the dumbest bill ever debated by the Nigerian Senate since the Social Media Bill..

The Ekiti State Assembly has just passed the billed, and is yet to be signed by the Governor.

For now, free grazing in Ekiti is no offence since the bill has not been signed into law.

Of course the governor's responsibility is regulation but it must still be in tandem with the laws of the nation.. Fayose can not unilaterally make laws that is not in consonance with national & regional tenets.

People bring their cattles to destroy your farm. They rape women and rob. They kill when they feel they are provoked. Did you condemn the herdsmen for killing people in Enugu, Agatu or Nasarawa ?
You are talking about cattle rustlers. Are the people in Enugu or Agatu cattle rustlers ? Are the rev. Sisters that were raped cattle rustlers too. If Fulani herdsmen should go on killing spree because a few bad people stole their cattles as they claim, then it's not wrong to ban all them for killing. Whose responsibility is it to differentiate the criminal elements amongst them ?
