sukkot:Why are you now praising tinubu like he is gods representative on earth, talking about tinubu square the way you did is like a Kennedy family laying claim on JFK airport in New York .one of our biggest problem in Nigeria is people worship. Listen bro we all can make our lives better by trying all we can to push the equality button all the time regardless of where ever you come from the only thing above me as far as am concerned is taxes and death so is tinubu . When someone asked what gift I will bless my children with, i told him the fact that my children to be can call another country other than Nigeria home is always a thing of joy to me. Why is that, because they can have the opportunity to leave in another environment where they can learn that all human beings are not crazy. Not saying you are crazy o cause you have proved a certain level of understanding, but when I read Nigeria's news I usually can't help but wonder what's going on in the head of average child. |

blueseacats:believe it or not tinubu is GODS representative on earth. nobody with that much power and wealth got their by their own accord. all powers and dominions are ordained by GOD. he has being ordained to be the controller of that landmass just as the queen of england is ordained to own half the landmass in this world. these types of powers of dominion come from GOD believe it or not. and the queen is worshipped too, so this worshipping of powerful people is not strictly a nigerian phenom |

The economy is not favourable to most people, yet the government is demanding for huge sum of money for permit, the hike in price of some commodities such as rice and beans has made most people starve, this usually gives rise to social vices. |

lordyugo:we are saying the exact same thing. learn to relax. and every black man is my brother. i just hope you will learn to see me as a brother instead of a distant stranger. the post was directed at the numerous igbo boys who boast about how they are buying and own the whole land in lagos and have kicked yoruba out, which from what you have said we both can agree this is an asinine statement |

I dont know why we choose to believe everything we read on here without thorough investigatiosns. I hv never heard of Govt demolishing buildings all in the name of permit, the best they would do is seal up the property. Please, the woman should go to her landlord for the truth and stop crying fowl all over the internet. Betterstill, let her come up with another lie because i refuse to believe this. |

How will they get the 40m now that they have destroyed the source of the money, or is there someone waiting to pay and take up the place immediately? Meanwhile vote for queen_omalicha01 (contestant11) as AdaIgbo of UNILAG.......https://www.instagram.com/p/BJxc1P3hx7T/ |

tejpot:First, l find it curious that the owners have bot heard about this and Govt goes ahead to demolish their shops, juts like that? For Govt to demolish a building, l think it needs a court order. I also think the Govt, even if it wants to demolish a commercial building that houses other people's business, it will/should have pasted a Notice on the said building so that "everyone is aware" (a sort of 'Buyer's Beware Notice') of its intentions and reasons. Even at that, demolishing a building is not always the best, in cases like this (assuming the story is true). There are other ways for Govt to recoup its due levy (and #40million seems like a lot, just for tenement levy). Seizing the property with a court order is the way to go so that the tenants pay into the Govt coffers, for a determined period or they can even confiscate the property, sell it off and recoup their dues. Bulldozing the building just seems like an act of 'Power drunkenness' because ot does not add any value to the Govt, the defaulter nor the citizens. |

DesChyko:. Amaka Osakwe blasts Ambode for demolishing her shop without notice Amaka Osakwe of Maki Oh fashion outfit is angry with Lagos State governor Akin Ambode after her shop was torn down by Lagos State government without prior warning today. She lamented on Instagram: This is my country. This is Nigeria. @akinwunmiambode @lagosstategovt Who protects the small businesses trying to do HONEST work in this disgustingly corrupt nation? With no warning, @nulijuice and all the shops on this strip were bulldozed down because the landlord apparently did not pay a 40 million Naira permit. The tenants found out about this this morning and 1 hr later their sweat and blood was turned rubble. No warning! How can this nation ever be great? We need to start a conversation about this mess. Who is next What has this nation ever done for SME's like us? Absolutely nothing but frustrate our efforts. But during your political campaigns you proudly advertise Maki Oh as one of the nation's exports. You have done nothing for us!!! How can we be great? This is not a country. |
