My website domain name and hosting expired last week; I noticed this when I tried to access the site. I called my webmaster and I paid him for for renewal as he requested. That was last Saturday and he told me the site should come up on Tuesday or latest Wednesday. The problem is that up till now the site has not come - anytime I open it it brings: This domain may be for sale. Backorder this Domain link

First, Webmasters don't lie, but they lie under frustration; It may have happened that, he slept off, unknowing the domain and hosting are getting expired or his acct was suspended for a reason...
So if it is the first instance, then u might have luck to get the domain back, the price might be changed... But if it is the other way round, It is him who has the fault, so he will have to appeal to his host, but fear not, just pray its not another instance aside the one I stated, If not..? its gone, thats why u must take a glimpse at ur account and mail daily so u wont be caught unaware...

You guys didnt advice the op in the best possible way why tryin to defend the webmaster. Here's my advie since it's affecting your business negatively,register it yourself and request for a full refund. Shikena it can be resolved in a timely manner so why wait for someone who has used your money for nairabet and lost ?

Nice thought bro,it is just to quickly help him reach the bus stop to acceot he has been conned.I think we web guys should let ppl knw how o renew their hostings without a third party to avoid this kind of issues. Imagine what it could be doing to the young man's business ?

I dont think he has recovered in rebuilding 4 years on.Which is why our brother needs to heed d quickest solution before someone else registers it and requests outrageous sum from him for what he previously owned.. Broeht since you mentioned web mastes are pushed to tiht corners by temptations may i know why we refuse to let tpeople in on how to register their domains n hosts themselves ? It's not like the profit can buy a good shoe.

I love this question as much as I expected it!, Yeah, not all clients understand or can control their host themselves, some just want it set up, and have access to the dashboard...
So I always assure them, that any disappointment, I take the blame...
But you may meet some others who understand a bit about it and u create it separately for them...
It all depends...

I epected this answer Genius. Trust me hthere's nothing technical about letting ppl in on how to make renewals for their hosts if one wants to maintain a standard and avoid this kind of temptions.

Yea, they might know of the payments, due date, how it works, but assume a layman enters ordinary cpanel, he might get confused and get things wrong...
and if any problem arises at any time, it might cause him headache instead if in care of a TRUSTED developer, all will be good...
But I see no gain in scamming, In myself I believe those scamming have no knowledge of these web works... A good web developer will never, I mean never scam his/her clients, but the otherwise will do...

Brother moko,web developers can be inconsistent people anyday anytime. You may be a standout but trust me i've been around the least consistent workers on earth are web developers.

hmm.. that may be true, but from my few experience, I discovered some clients frustrates their developer so much...
Sometimes you might offer a web services for a client, in ur mind, you just offered the best out of the rest, but the client won't see that part, yet they keep tracking ur mistakes, which makes some developers, turn black to them, and sometime they offer below per for them...

So it falls both side, like the OP's case, I believe there is more to it...
