erico2k2:That was my understanding as well that power showers have inbuilt pumps that can increase the water pressure. I however made enquirers about a power shower from a supplier and he categorically told me all the power showers do not have internal pumps. Where did you get yours by the way? |

I am not sure if this is relevant, let me tell you the little i know about it. This does not apply to Nigeria by the way. Where you have a power shower that if fed from a Combination boiler (Combi boiler), what happens is that the boiler has an internal pump inside it, and the pressure capacity of the pump is somewhat determined by the size/model of the boiler, thats why you have a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 24i, 28i (now replaced by a 29CDI ), 30 si (now replaced by CDI), 34cdi, 36 or 38 or so. I think one can increase the pressure within some boilers but i am not sure of from just a mixer shower or a shower head. I recently installed a 34 cdi as i was told this will take care of out buildings as i got one, and future extension bathrooms and also enough pressure to go upstairs. Saying that I have installed 24 si in a single story house without any problems. The other option would be to install an electric shower, and feed it with mains water, it does have a pump and also a thermostat to control the temp. battleaxe: |

For those of you with tight spaces but need a visitors toilet (half bath), something to think about... Toilet & Sink Combo

msogunro:this is nice, but do you recon it would work in the Nigerian setting cos i think the the water tank might be low if U ask me,but in that pic the tank might be behind the cabinet wall |

erico2k2:The tank is actually below the sink. If you take a close look at the sink, you will notice it is shallow. The tank for the toilet is in the same position as all the toilet tanks I've seen in Niaja. I think it will work. I'm considering it, because the layout that we have come up with has a visitors toilet on the ground level but it's not have a window and it seems bathrooms with a window is part of the building code. At least that is what I was told. If it is code, I'll have to carve out some space by the entrance for that beauty. |

msogunro:No window? damn, U got to give it a window some how, mine is same, it was hard to sort but at the end, I arrived at a good plan, I decided not to make the visitors room en-suit,I carved out a bathroom at the back of teh kitchen and a hall way running direct to the room, that also doubled as visitors toilet. |

erico2k2:Nope. It's a visitors toilet. Do they need to look outside? I was going to use an overhead bathroom fan for ventilation. |
