I did a job for someone in the US and gave a friend's US account to receive the money with the plan of opening a domiciliary account here and asking him to transfer the money to it. Over time, the money got to some thousands of dollars with him. I eventually opened the account and sent the details to him so he could help me transfer it. He didn't respond and when I called him he didn't answer the call. I called him several times after that, no response. I sent mails to him, no response. I tried to contact him on Facebook and found out he had deactivated his account. It's been like 6 weeks now and the only response to all the messages I sent to him is that even if I report the matter to the police, there is nothing they can do because it is a civil case and he will go ahead to declare bankruptcy and all he owns in the US is a TV which costs about $300.

I have all necessary details about him but I need to know the right way to go about this. I can push it to a level where he will face some charges due to his travel and work history in the US and may even lose so much but that may not eventually bring back my money.

Please, dear people, what do you suggest I do?
chai naija guy dn go fall maga... Chai.. TRUST NO BODY ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO MONEY

GeneralTopic:
If you truly need your money, go to interpol, get his necessary details and every related evidence of transactions. They will get it done within a week, he will be arrested there in the US by interpol. Interpol police is everywhere in the world. You can find them in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, calabar and other big cities. Thank me later.
if this is possible then it the best option for you. Not everyone in U.S.A is living fine but if you tell them here like 50 people will gather and argue bitterly with you.

How much is involved??
What part of Nigeria did he come from??

So I can advise you on what to do??

No baby want to die.. You will give him a local civil case from a local village with amadioha, pass the information though his family members.
It's will get to him in good faith...

wrongful termination ke? Since he said he only owns a tv (I know it's exergeration), I'm sure he is working in one of those small companies that make u sign on the first day that ur contract can be terminated any time.
Maybe... but then again he might be lying about owning just a TV.

Bros, What kind of job EXACTLY did you do for this "client" of yours? Cos something like this happened 3 weeks ago to a friend in US. A mutual friend of ours requested for his account details, which he gave without asking questions, unknown to him, the payment was coming from a "client"(oyinbo lover), he got the payment 0f 8,000$ and realized the source, he simply didn't send the money to the dude in Nigeria. The dude was no running up and down reporting him (us friend) to everybody reportable and guess what I didn't blame the guy, you directed funds gotten ilegally to him and you want him to send, when the authority over there trace and caught up with him, you will be here in Naija enjoying your money and forming boss. I will sure do the same if I was in his shoes, I wouldn't even give my account to a friend I don't trust his source of income 100%.
Am not saying this applies to you oo,

Hmmmm...Never thought of this o. I actually know his younger brother and can get how to see him. But from what I heard, he doesn't really care about this younger brother. I might just try that with the hope he won't prefer to lose his younger brother for money. Thanks plenty.
Do you have proof? That smuggler had a lot to lose if the case got to the police. Thus he quickly "crossed" the man but in your case, do you have any proof that he was owing you money? If you have none, his brother may Sue you and win you know? Abeg, think am well before you do something bad.

And you are actually considering it too. You people are just too animalistic for words. I will keep saying that every Nigerian is a potential murderer. What if someone dies in the process of you beating up his family members?

Hahahaha, as he is helping the guy to beg ba? Like it happens to people like that. Saying someone that stole my money should be left off the hook because I may need him tomorrow. If the guy was even postponing payment, I for try understand. But the guy clearly chopped the money and told his friend not to bother come looking for it ever again. Is that the kind of person one would look forward to expecting help from in future?

Why would you touch his brother?
Is he the one that scammed you.. you can get yourself into deep trouble if u harm him..

Why not fly to u.s and beat him who scammed you (since ur blood they hot) instead of an innocent soul..

Also since u said he is ur friend,, give him benefit of the doubt. Maybe something went wrong and he couldn't contact u to even know that u require the money.. what if u go and beat his brother and it later turns out he didn't scam you after all... how would you feel.. what if the reverse was the case and your innocent brother was beaten?

You see why i say the mentality in Nigeria is the main reason the country is the way it is? You people just don't think like a human being should. What is abnormal in another society is absolutely normal to you. If you go to Germany and suggest what you just did they would look at you as if you have gone mad, but in Nigeria, people think you are normal for suggesting it. First of all, we are not talking about anyone plucking another person's eyes out. If this was a normal country, you would have known that all he had to do was go to the police with evidence and the police would go to the U.S embassy and from there the liason at the embassy would contact the police in the U.S and they would pursue the case. Contrary to what the uninformed OP thinks, fraud is not a civil case. It is because you don't do things the normal way in Nigeria is the reason you don't know this. You all are just too used to violence. What kind of people are you for God's sake? Smh.
