Nigerians may need to brace up for harder times as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has made some gloomy revelations about the country’s economy. The CBN governor, in a closed-door meeting with the Senate, disclosed that the Federal Government might not be able to pay its workers’ salaries, effective from October this year if the current economy decline continues. Emefiele further stated that if the present situation in the country continued, Nigerians would be forced to pay general taxes, which would not exclude petroleum products. In the meeting, Emefiele presented a comprehensive account of the economy in the last one year which he said not in a good state.

Although I cannot verify the authenticity of your news story, but I would want people to brace up for the worst. I had a dream that banks could no longer meet withdrawal demands of their customers. They were only accepting deposits. In fact some of them shut down operations all together.

I have been asking GOD for mercy all day. Please everyone must seek Divine intervention to rescue this sinking ship.

God doesnt intervene after people makes choices,he allows them experience the consuqeunces of their choices for a while before anything like intervention comes in play. I've been careful with my money and banks for a while aand been stocking up food supplies like seriously.. Make i stock 6 months supply is my next target make Buhrai do anythin he wan do since he doesnt listen - stiffened neck pharoah

You are right. The people have made a choice they must live with. The reason I am very disturbed is because this is the second time I am having this dream. This second one was very clear and scary. It was a state of financial chaos. And I could hear someone blaming the people for their wrong choice. I woke up depressed. Sadly my main banking institution was heavily affected. It shut down its operations.

As a precaution I would significantly empty my savings with them and also learn to manage money from home safe without spending recklessly. Nevertheless I won't stop praying. It's our nation.

It wldnt hv set in if Buhari had acted fast wen he took over wit regards to appointment of ministers wch wld hv provided direction for both local n foreign investors. Instead he wasted 6 solid months, gallivanting d globe, bad-mouthing Nigerians as criminals n was busy chasing political opponents in d name of fighting corruption forgetting d fact dat ppl will feed. Dont let complex language confuse you. It means i change every Naira i eanr chaang einto dollar and store it in form of bitcoins webmoney or anything i can change from across the border should nything happen.

& that's what a lot of people don't understand.

when the president gives the impression that everyone in his country is incompetent & corrupt, it gives foreign investors reasons to pause & rethink their investments.

the Nigerian economy was too delicate to be run on autopilot for that long & when the appointments were made, the caliber of people did not inspire confidence or justify the time spent in getting the 'noisemakers'.

the few good ones have been given portfolios alien to them or below their expertise.

this president equates austerity with prosperity. he believes that only a minute few should be rich or have access to power while majority of the populace should have just enough to survive. even China & Russia that used to espouse these principles have moved away from such retrogressive thinking.

Buhari is a curse......quote me anywhere
