Hello.

The judges are 5 well-published literary writers consulting for DVASTACE WRITERS.

The original intention was to make it free but the general consensus was that if we want the best participants and great works, we had to make the situation such that the contestants would take it seriously due to what they had to lose, no matter how little.

This minimal entry fee should indicate that the company basically wants it free to encourage as many people as possible but with a little regulation.

All the best..

I am appalled man. 1000 naira entry fee multiply by 2000 equals N200,000.00. Sum of 1st 2nd and 3rd prizes is N152,000. You still got balance. Is it some kind of Biz?

N1000 × 2000 entries = N2m

Proposed prizes = N150k all told

N2m - N150k = N?

Which general consensus? You want to use Nairalanders do business. You think Nairalanders are paupers that would jump at the offer of 100k? Sorry to disappoint you. If you reall mean business, remove the 1k entry fee or better still slash it to #100 otherwise you wont even get any entry or you can make the 1st prize 1.5million

Hello. Your concern is appreciated. We have 5 judges, each to score 400 contestants. Scores will be totalled and the top 3 highest chosen. These processes will not be done for free.

Your opinion is duly noted though. It's a competition. Only interested participants are expected to participate. You could hold on and maybe future contests may have the entry fee reduced or removed by the company.

Stay creative, stay blessed.

I would like Lalasticlala to help create more awareness. The competition has been opened to university students who are not members of nairaland as well. Though, the top 3 winners will have their works posted for all to see and assess.

Fraud? I don't believe we have requested or promised any service for your money. You either participate or not. There is no force or deception. It's quite clear and simple. Just like entry fees for beauty pageants, reality shows, etc.
