sorextee:Lol....why didn't you read Buhari's own? Anyways, from all indications, it shows that Obasanjo's regime was good economically and Jonathan's regime exhibited a great form of democracy....Yaradua na "baba peace" I can't say for Buhari own, make we watch as e dey go |

Analysing the post, i can see a downward spiral of bad governance. So it's safe to say that the next president would be worse than President Buhari. I may be wrong, but till i am proven so. |

The problem with the APC led (Buhari) government is that they came into power without a plan unlike Yar'adua who had a well mapped out plan(7 points agenda). Nigeria is now taking the hit and will definity continue till 2019 when it might be corrected(if Nigerians so desire) |

kudos on your write up. i observed that you did not state the debt profile of Nigeria under the govt of late Yaradua which ended in the year 2009. it will be good if it is included to avoid uncertainties as to which era of govt incure the debt. |

facelessangel:Please read the article and understand where we were coming from. Obasanjo created a reserve to $65B then yardua and Goodluck squandard it to $460M. Ask your self assuming the reserve was left at the $65B or rose to #100B due to oil boom at their time, will we have deficit in our budget? Will it affect our exchange rate? I beg reason it. Don't just blame their present situation but think of where u were coming from. |

Good one Tonye and i will look at your write-up from a business perspective. Most Nigerians never look at the bigger picture or long-term goals or benefits of most things and so therefore will always sway to the tune of whosoever is in power. Hence, the blame games when things are not going the way they expected. The same thing is applicable to most of the businesses folding up in Nigeria right now.. They all failed to plan and save for the rainy days.. Most of them practically spend their profit like there was no tomorrow though I will not absolve the govt completely of some of the blame while most Nigerian business people are also complicit in the whole matter. I once consulted for one of the big multinational oil companies in Nigeria and you need to see the way they planned for the future with emphasis on reducing wastage in order to maximize their profit. I was amazed that in the time of plenty, these people were not spending anyhow rather they were consolidating and reducing wastage. Flip it to a typical naija business man, it was a time to show off and make unintelligent investment decisions that will not add to the bottom-line of the business. Therefore, there is a need to totally overhaul the way we think and approach long-term plans or goals in order not find ourselves in such mess in the future. |

You did a great work here by giving a fairly good assessment of all the PDP elected Presidents we have had. However, i will like to correct a wrong notion which was included in your report. The total amount spent by the government of Olusegun Obasanjo in the power sector was less than $5bn and not $16bn was you wrote in this piece. The allegation that Obj spent over $16bn in the power sector was a deliberate attempt by some hawks within the corridor of power serving under Pres. Yar'adua to blackmail the person of Obj. Recall that when the House of Reps went on their investigative 'awada kerikeri' on monies spent within the power sector, they came up with the figure $16bn while Pres. Yar'adua at different fora claimed that Obj spent $10bn. In a bid to reconcile both figures, a committee was set up which was headed by then Vice President Goodluck Jonathan, his committee was able to verify and discovered that the sum spent was less than $5bn which i cant immediately remember now. The most annoying part of this was that, when the report was submitted, our media under-reported which leaves the room for the fictious figure of $16bn to continue trending till today. StOla:I feel you bro!But in all honesty,I think this should be directed to the state governors under Jonathan's regime.Did you read the part where he said OBJ refused to share the Excess Crude Account (ECA) with his state governors when they came calling for it?.But Jonathan shared the ECA with Oshiomhole,Amaechi,Fashola,Akpabio, etc; majority of who are now in APC. I think the state governors are the ones ruining this country. |

FastShipping:I agree with you. There are people who would prefer to remain zombies. GEJ didn't handle the affairs of this nation firmly. He gave a bad impression about his government. I believe he should have fired Deziani or caged her. He should have gone ahead to take certain bold steps even though the opposition didn't see reason to it. For instance removal of subsidy. He should have done more for Niger Delta as a whole instead of empowering just a few individuals. But Buhari is yet to prove he's better. No economic plan at all like you said. Imagine a president having 4 media advisers and yet there's no economic team. . This is foolishness. |
