Fifteen Nigerian players have been called up to England’s youth teams since the start of the 2016-2017 season.
The authoritative website youthhawk.co.uk has done an analysis of the 135 players called by England from Under 21 to Under 16 and the clubs they represent.
Four of the fifteen players of Nigerian descent invited are on the books of Chelsea, three represent Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Fulham have contributed two players each.
The other invited players are Wolves stopper Dominic Iorfa and Charlton Athletic striker Ademola Lookman.
Regarding the age distribution, four players each were called up to the U20 and U16 squads, U18 three, U21 two, while the U19 and U17 squad have one player each.
Eleven percent of the 135 players that have earned call ups this season are eligible to play for Nigeria.
