Aregbesola should immediately reopen the school. Kemi adeosun should offset the bill to immediately reopen the schools everywhere in the federation

How comes osun state is involve as the school is located in oyo state.
old oyo state had the school at ogbomoso (oyo) and medical college in osogbo(osun). after the split both did not give up their stakes.

It baffles me how educated people can ask students of Osun indegene to leave the school. Will their leaving pay their salary arrears? As if Oyo state is better off. undecided
This as been the custom., the governors will soon bribe labour leaders & they'll ask the lecturers to return to school on empty promises. na today?? undecided
Exactly, it's saddening that youths that are suppose to be beneficiaries of better condition are now victims of political sumo.

I like your message but I will advice u not to support the bad omen. If Oyo state should try to take over Lautech, d school will suffer more than what they are facing. Presently, LAUTECH is owned and finance by 2 states yet they are on strike for non payment of salary, what if its one state, what will happened ? *I am an Alumni of Lautech, a popular Unionist during my days in school* I will tell u that dis protest is political. They planned something like this some years back n they fail.. I could recollect, all they are saying then was 'Agboola must go, ABC must die'. Agboola is their Registrar while ABC Olagunju is now the Chief Bursar of the school, both from Osun state. All they are doing is to steal the rights of co-ownership of the institution.

Please, in ur own interest, don't allow them to use u for the actualization of a planned coupé. During my time, d longest strike we experienced was General ASUU strike around 2009 which lasted for close to 6 months.. If u are not sure, check my profile at Lautech S.U.G. i remain my humble self, Hon. Justice Olagunju Adeola (a.k.a. Lagazine).
I can tell you the university will not suffer if taken over by the government of Oyo state.
I would like to know if Ogbeni Aregbesola is owing osun state university workers (not civil servants please)? I haven't heard of them embarking on strike lately. This is to tell you that the state of Osun can take care of her univer
sity. Ask yourself this as an alumnus, what becomes of this 26years old university if Senator Ajimobi led government goes ahead with the planned technical university with all this going on? Your guess is as good as mine. For your information Oyo state gave some money to the university lately but warned the money must not be paid unless the governor of Osun releases her own quota.

, it's better the school is handed over to the Federal Government (story for another day) in order to solve this lingering crises.
Not until a new state is carved out of Oyo state and Ogbomoso and Ibadan are not in the same state. There's a policy of only one federal university per state. Moreover, FG taking over LAUTECH will be a misguided attempt. Should they do that, some states will expect same gesture from the FG to bail out their state universities. UNIOSUN for instance has been operating solely on IGR since as "Aare onigbese" (president of debtors-Aregbesola) has failed to perform his responsibility. Some federal universities can no longer pay their full salaries while some are using their IGR to augument whatever government supplies as monthly allocations for salaries.

Am an indigene of Osun but I've always said that Osun does not need to jointly own LAUTECH again. We should have since parted ways so that attention can only be on UNIOSUN. For crying out loud, we are not as rich as Oyo state but we own more higher institutions than them (2 universities, 2 polytechnics & 2 colleges of education ).

IT'S TIME OSUN PULLED OUT OF LAUTECH JOINT OWNERSHIP! !!!

He's equally owing UNIOSUN but in order to avoid this kind of embarrassment emanating from LAUTECH, he has since given them the liberty to pay their salaries from their IGR. I guess their IGR is high enough to sustain them and their staff strength is not as enormous as LAUTECH's. You guys have to sustain the agitation for LAUTECH freedom from Osun state government and impress it on your governor that LAUTECH belongs to Oyo state government and not Ogbomoso community, because one can sense politics in all of this. Why should Ajimobi contemplate a technical university in Ibadan when there's a UI (with Faculty of Technology ) and a renown Ibadan Poly? The answer is obvious - he wants to initiate a monumental project in his hometown and loot through the process. Thought Alao Akala was now in their party. He should be talking to Ajimobi by now, at least to justify his membership of the ASSOCIATION OF PROTECTED CRIMINALS.

Collision of parents of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and Ogbomoso indigenes have taken to street to protest the long shut down of the institution.

Placards carrying parents, especially those of Ogbomoso, Oyo State indigenes stormed the Senate building of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology earlier today to pour our their grievances over the shut. They demand the Oyo State government take over of LAUTECH, calling for the evacuation of all students from Osun State origin.
According to the protester, the protest was used to pass message across to the institution's Vice Chancellor, visiting Governors and other stakeholders.

"Oyo State owned LAUTECH, we demand the take over of the institution, since the Osun State Government has failed it woefully. We are bittered over the unnecessary shut down of LAUTECH. We urge the vice chancellor not to sell out Lautech to Osun" one of the protester, who spoke to us on anonymity said.
Recalled that the Ladoke Akintola University students have been sent home on mid-semester break since June, over non payment of lecturers and other workers salaries.

All these tantrums didn't solve the problem in 2010, why do they think it will now...

Seems you're the only person being objective here. Lautech is already bigger than what one state may hold on to.

This exactly what played out in 2009-2010 and climaxed with the sacking of VC Prof B.B Adeleke barely days after 20th anniversary...

For those, with half-witted knowledge, history has a way of repeating itself.
Attached below is an excerpt from this same ownership crisis as published in Saturday Tribune, September 4, 2010.
