Operation Iron Fence -South East Can't all people come together to re-negotiate how all the tribes can live together, like devolving powers to the regions, so that they can govern themselves and develop at their own pace? Tiny military, absent police force and open borders, I'm truly astonished, we only have 9 crises point throughout Nigeria to contend with. But, hay, time remains. Repeat: an African Nation with the potential of Nigeria, in a hostile world to such notions, requires a 1 million man army. Since Nigeria currently has no police force, half of the 1 million soldiers can be pressed into police duties. ...if we must maintain such a tiny military, we need to go high-tech. This is not mini civil war. There are multiple low intensity conflicts ongoing in Nigeria . Interestingly, at least 100 countries in the world have multiple internal LICs ongoing including China, Russia and almost all South American countries. In the US there is LIC. The gunfights in parts of New York, Chicago and Detroit dwarfs all these other country LICs in terms of intensity. Please don't let things excite you too much. If you think Nigeria will let break up and join a militant group , they will waste you for nothing or you get a bullet in the brain or back and be paralysed for life. LICs are notorious in getting easily resolved and only the people sliver and healthy enjoy the peace 5 Likes |

This is the first time I will be hearing of operation awase in the south west. I have never seen them before in ikorodu(Lagos),,ijebu ode(ogun) and okitipupa(ondo)...neither have I seen them patrolling along that axis. 2 Likes |

Nigeria is addicted to failure simple truth. We know what needs to be done but haven't started yet. Nairaland has addressed and examined it ad auseam. We should reduce federal government power in certain state issues, fiscal federalism, take land and mineral rights out of domain of federal gov and into the individual citezen, strengthen rule of law and property rights. We know what to do. We have good examples like Asian Tigers economicly, USA governing style, common law from British. All the resources a country can ask for and brain power to be world class if we don't stifile ourselves. 1 Like |

Let them keep spending oil money on the military while people are starving in the North East.
