1. It is good to start small but it is bad to remain small and you can start any amount of plots the main thing here is starting.
2. I cant give you a specific price for starting as it varies with location and depends widely on land type eg virgin land, fallow or thick forest.
3. That also depends on you but in my opinion there are ALWAYS buyers for plantain produce.

Thank you! Is it cocoa yam? Sincerely cocoa and plantain farm will NOT work. I suggest you divid the land maybe 2hcts for plantain and the remaining for cocoa yam i guess. You can start now if you have the funds also if you have done land preparation already because clearing the land now will cost you a lot due to the steady rainfall. I strongly suggest you proceed next year. Currently, i am using the suckers in my farm for expansion sorry i won't be able to sell to you now, maybe next year! #teamlove #Godblessyou

Just a little advice;

DO NOT plough the land you want to use for plantain farming that is so wrong
Forget about traditional planting, go commercial (big) or go home
Propagated suckers cuts your start up budget by up to 50%
Plantain loves water but cant withstand stagnant or too swampy land
