It's not compulsory for your experience to be related to your degree. The part-time work you did counts and, if you also worked while doing your part-time Bsc, it counts as well. However, you will need to get reference letters from the places you've worked to substantiate your claims, CIC requires it.

Thank you very much

. Not even NYSC? 1 year experience is mandatory.

Normally, NYSC experience cannot be said to be one year of work experience in the real sense of it because you will not work(PPA) in the 1st and 12th months of the scheme cos they are for orientation and winding up/passing of the program.

I don't think your work experience while undertaking a part-time study counts, CIC requires post-qualification in calculating your points though i stand to be corrected.

Where did you search for it?

Anyway, if you are considering your customer service role, it is NOC 6551 (Customer services representatives – financial institutions). This job experience is under skill level C, so you can't use the experience gained on this role to apply. However, for lecturers, the NOC is either 4012 (Post-secondary teaching and research assistants) or 4011 (University professors and lecturers). You can use either of the last 2 cos they are under skill level A

Thank you so much dupyshow.

Let me say this here, when calculating your years of work experience, please note that what CIC counts is the period spent on the NOC your application is based on e.g, if your application is based on NOC 1111 in which you have 2years experience but you also have 3years experience in noc 1221, CIC will award you marks for 2years only, they wont lump your total 5years work experience together cuz they are not in the same noc.

Hi JesusDWay,
I have about 4years experience in 2 different NOCs- 2years in both but while filling the EE profile, I told them I have 3 or more years. Is this a problem?

Yes sir, a lawyer can do it. It was a lawyer somewhere in Yaba, Lagos that did all the notarization including Intl passport for us. Unfortunately, i only know few Lawyers in some cities but i'm not sure where you are, so i can't suggest any.

But i believe any registered notary public around you can do it.

platypelloid:

Thank you sir.
I have emailed them
They seem not reject it.they say its incomplete.
I have the certification of identify done by my school, can a lawyer do my Intl passport notarization? Or I have to go back to my school?
Do you know any lawyer who is a notary public?
Thank you.

Thank you so much for this thread. My wife works at a bank. I am an auditor at a big 4 accounting firm. We both have a BSC but I am the only ICAN holder. I am 29 and she is 28. Who does the house think should be the principal applicant?
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Gymme(m): 12:24am On Sep 14, 2016
Your ages would give the same point (as at now) so i would suggest the person with a higher number of work experience could apply. Also, since you are in the accounting field, i think you should have an upper edge. Your IELTS results too must be strong enough to boost your points.

So are you saying one cannot include NYSC as job experience even though it meets over 70% of the job description in your NOC

grin that's not what I mean, what I am saying is that realistically, it cannot be exactly 12months=1 year work experience .

Of course, that is the right NOC. Just ensure the letter of experience you get shows that you perform over 60% of the job written under the NOC.

That's not correct. Part-time work experiences during studies outside Canada count. The only issue is that a year part-time work will not count as a full year. You will need the numbers of hours per week to calculate the number of months you actually worked.

I still doubt if our part time job in Nigeria is really part time and not full time sef. This is because i believe we work up to or more than 30 hours per week AS part time in Nigeria which is equivalent to full time in Canada.

In essence, if one's part time job is up to or more than 30 hours weekly, then it is full time equivalent.

Sign in to your account using:

Sign in Partner (SecureKey Concierge), which uses your online banking information or

What does this mean please?

@Gymme. Are you saying part-time job before qualification counts or part-time job after qualification? Are you saying if somebody graduated last year from a part-time program in nigeria university though he has been working for the past 6years whilst schooling, he will he get 6years or 1 year working experience for canada express entry? To the best of my knowledge cic only consider post qualification working experience wheather part-time or full time.

HELLO DUPSYSHOO,

PLEASE CAN YOU THROW MORE LIGHT ON THE WORK EXPERIENCE?
I READ FOR THE F.S.W, IT MUST TO BE CONTINUOUS AND AT LEAST A YEAR, CAN ONE MERGE TWO DIFFERENT WORK EXPERIENCES TO FORM 1 YEAR?
PLEASE I NEED YOU GUYS TO HELP CLARIFY.

THANKS
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Gymme(m): 7:35pm On Sep 14, 2016
I was actually pointing out part time hours that qualify for full time and not about before or after qualification work experience.

IRCC rejected a friend's PR application because they counted his work experience from after he graduated here in Canada. He thought since he started the job while as a student, that should count as work experience but they said no, the work experience should start counting AFTER school.

So i would also say that post qualification (whether part time or full time) is what IRCC recognizes.
