Hello Mr Stagerlee
I have a quick question.
Is it true that I can get back all my VAT at the airport if I keep my receipts and tender them?
Thanks quote author=staggerlee post=49313560]Meanwhile I am looking for people with legitimate visas in the republic but want to change status or extend, have opened an advisory office here with little cost. So hit me up, have also made in roads into the DHA, so there is a high chance of you getting your application approved, sorry guys no more free bees[/quote]

Rands are really scarce in Nigeria.
You can try Abokis but I doubt they will give you good rates.
If the bank is giving you good rates for dollars I would still advise you to get dollars.

You don't need SAQA to apply to University of Cape Town. UCT admits without SAQA. Just prepare your transcripts, degree certificate, and apply.

Bro you can imagine someone dropping his/her passport for 16, 17 weeks and at the end get refused on some silly reasons , can an International student get PR or PGWP(Post Graduate Work Permit) after studies..thanks

If Canada did not favour you, why not try US or Germany. Personally, I'm only considering going to SA because it's cheaper, I wouldn't consider SA if I can afford US or Canada.

I don't know of PR but you could get Critical Skills if you studied STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and if you're lucky too.

@Emasel. Are you saying that somebody that studied chemistry as a science course in the university can apply for a critical visa?

Hi guys,

I am visiting SA next month with my wife. We were in SA in 2014, we went clean and back. Now I want to ask a couple of questions.

1. How easy is it to reapply? Do we get quicker easier service since we visited about 2 years ago?

2. I am thinking we should apply for multiple entry since we will have reasons to visa SA frequently? Is this reasonable? Is multiple entry more expensive than single entry?

3. When we visited in 2014, I was the one that was invited, but I got the organizers of the conference to get my wife her own invitation letter. This time, my wife was invited and I do not have an invitation letter. Of course we will apply as a family, but will my not having an invitation letter spoil my chances of getting the visa?

I look forward to informed responses as we will apply by Friday.

Thank you

Just arrived in SA on Wednesday.
I changed my Naira to dollars then I changed to dollars when I got to the airport here. Naira-Dollar exchange rate was 420 at Sullah bureau de change and when I got here it was 13.6 rands for a Dollar.
Long story short. Changing To dollars then coming over here to convert to rands gives you more value for your money.

Please I do not wish to say that your calculation is wrong but please tell me how you arrive at the amount hence by looking at the dollar rate here is 420 X $100 = 42,000.00
100 dollars is 1427.37rands. To get actual amount = 42,000/1427.37 your actual rate to naira should be naira 29.424kobo .
Please prove me wrong and tell me how you arrived at 13.36. Thank you

You do not need dollars, change.your money to rands and spend your rands there,by changing back and forth you will lose some few naira to the change operators...what i did was i bought 3500 rands on my way, i spent just a thousand from it and change the rest to dollars on my way home....that 3500 rand was less than 110k then, but if you require dollars you might need around 250k to get $500
How do i change naira to rands in Nigeria? Thanks

Not Dollar rate to Naira if i understand him, though he still didn't maximize his advantage, he changed at the wrong place. $1 = ZAR(not NGN) 13.36 instead of 14.27 or so, effect of changing at travelex!

Way better changing your naira to USD in naija and changing USD to ZAR when you get to SA in my opinion. PTA, PTA, PTA, which bank will you get it from? Getting ZAR from the black market as against the dollar is not an advantage currently!
