Since i saw it on Google Maps, i've always wanted to visit it so today I decided to take time and see it for myself. I left my school (NCAT Zaria) and took a bus to ABU which is about 5.9km and then began my little expedition. With the help of Google Maps and lots of trekking and determination, I made the 2.1km walk to the site of the dam and my efforts were rewarded with the beautiful sight around me!
There were lots of trees around the area and the sunset gave a very warm and lovely glow to the water around the dam, the only drawback was the fact that some people were fishing at the spillway of the dam despite the fact that a sign warns against activities of such. Overall, it was a very lovely experience and I'd recommend it to anyone that stays around in Zaria . Come with a car or a bicycle preferably or else you'll go home with sore feet like I did!

I think it's possible that they want to prevent accidents there or they want to prevent people who want to commit suicide from using there, you never know people are capable of anything
