I don't support corruption but why the media trial, crucifixion and hypocrisy?
Let a competent court of law decide if she's guilty or not.If she's guilty let her face the music.
what about Buratai,Danbazzu,Aishia Buhari and even the budget padding scandal? All swept under the rug.Why has the been silent on these issues?
She has taken a firm stand and as thus I believe there is more to this case than meets the eyes. She is even taking the EFCC to court.
Why is the EFCC afraid of taking this matter to court?
Let us stop all this media propaganda and crucifixion until a competent court of law decides on a case.
EFCC cannot be prosecutor, jury, judge and executioner.
I strongly believe this case is geared towards divertion of attention of the populace.

God bless Nigeria.

P.S- For those of you claiming she cannot be charged to court because the cash was laundered,it's obvious you are oblivious of the rule of law. Can't she be charged as an accessory to the crime?since she boldly came out to say it belongs to her.
Like I stated earlier, there is more to this than meets the eye. This case will be swept under the carpet once it has achieved its aim of instigating hate for the last administration and subtly making the populace blame them for the present economic crisis.

Note that this case is coming up on the heels of the "change begins with me campaign" and as usual they need a negative mascot to help make this administration look good.
in saner climes, people avoid the courts but in Nigeria criminals are the ones who keep on shouting 'take me to court, take me to court' and I guess you know the reason why, our courts and their judges are useless. more often than not when you hear someone shouting take me to court, take me to court, that person is guilty. talk about media trial, it is everywhere. in our churches, communities, schools. why don't you tell those who burnt an armed robber alive last week to take that armed robber to court? even buhari is on Media trial. patience Jonathan isn't helping her cause. Nigerians are not fools, Nigerians know the history of public people. they know the woman has never worked anywhere yet she has 35 million dollars, and then you have the 4 companies confessing already. Nigerians are only talking, there is no media trial.

Are the likes Amaechi and Tinubu better than her?
If your janjawiid president have the guts let him touch her.
Efcc is a witch hunt and a tool to suppress opposition.
Here we go again!!! I bet you did not even read the article.

A lot is definitely wrong with us (Youths).

When we call for proper prosecution of the "well-known corrupt leaders" it becomes easier to call for the prosecution of the ones hiding under the cloak of "ruling party".

The woman is unenlightened and may end up being consumed by her ignorance. She boldly owned up to being a thief? Who does that? Even Tompolo has not boldly owned up to blowing pipelines despite being from a lower background and considered less exposed. The end of PEJ might not be nice as the entire world might hashtag her like #bringbackourgirls or even call for her trial in US or elsewhere. Her supporters should pray for this her ignorance not to attract American attention.

When Northerners 'stole' , it is not corruption but when southerners 'stole' , it is corruption.

Corruption is a very serious matter for this country but ABACHA, according to Buhari is 'NOT CORRUPT' and it has been rumoured that Abubakar Abdulsalam is the most corrupt former Head of State. Even Turai Yardua loot with the cabal when Umoru Yardua was on his sick bed was said to be legendary. IBB AND OBJ ?

We need to get to the bottom of what is fueling corruption in our country instead of selective finger pointing. Prosecute Patience Jonathan if the money is stolen.

Insightful post.

Whoever is guilty of corruption should be disciplined but there should be no rationalizing of witch hunting unless we intend to mock ourselves.

PEJ has not been found guilty by a court of law so why all this media crucifixion
Because almost everyone around him at the time he was president seems to be corrupt. First it was dasuki, then deziani, now his wife. His own wife. Especially his wife. She would not be able to amass such wealth unless through his influence. And these are not just meager amounts we are talking about. He has to be the most incompetent leader on earth not to have noticed that all this was happening around him.

To a very high extent, I know that this administration's fight against corruption has imposed a high quality senseless attitude in most Nigerians especially the one who published this post.
Let me break it down, I have realized that it has been a crime to be wealthy.
Reason this, when an ordinary citizen can own more than that, then you talk about a presidents wife with so much influence and affluence.
I know poverty has been a stigma to some irrationalists, all because they don't know the product of investment.
I want someone to just invest 1 million naira into oil and gas industry then tell me what comes out.
Those who are rational know what i mean.
Patience Jonathan admitted the funds to be hers and you don't like it. What about the President that declared false assets. You covered the mess because you like him.
Please let us be truthful because you and i can be in such situation.
And it is a wrong mentality when you feel people should not get rich.
Use your heads even if the cash was stolen it won't affect the Nigerian economy in any way nor benefit you. And even recovered it will be Looted by the government again and again.
unless you free urself from self afflicted bias you won't understand the problem facing Nigeria. No one said she stole, let her prove the investment dat a mere civil servant will make in her lifetime to amass $31m for medical upkeep alone. Trying to defend Patience shows the highest level of political dishonesty and lack of focused consideration for the plight of millions of Nigerians impoverished by the corrupt practices of nefarious filibusters.

Please charge her to court and make sure you obey court rulings and orders (rule of law) while in the process then if found guilty, come and paint her any color you like and I 'll clap for you but until then, quit the media crucifixion except if the aim is to give your supporters something to feast on so the brazen hardship is not talked about for some time.
is she by any means ur mother? Did she give you part of the money? No honest person will keep her personal money in the accounts impersonated as that of her maids. She created accounts in the name of her maids and has the sole signatory to the accounts. Biko reason this very well na. Corruption is staring us in the face and u still try to deny or argue on her behalf. Quite a pity!

No matter the amount she steals, some people here will still defend her even though one kobo will not enter their pockets. All because of sentiment
don't mind them. The funny part is that some of them are still unemployed looking for job, when actually the corrupt politicians who mortgaged their future is their lord which no one must criticise.

You people need to know how to argue constructively. Who is talking about Buhari? As far as i am concerned he in a long line of useless leaders you all have selected once again and will continue to select. So because Buhari and anyone around him is corrupt we should not question how a woman, with no viable skill, is able to amass millions of dollars? Or the fact that she was able to do it because of her equally corrupt husband? You guys deserve to suffer. You don't want to think like normal people abi? Carry on. No wonder you are all known as a nation filled with 200 million mumu.

If half of the people in Nigeria had my mentality and thought process, Nigeria would be a great country today. Everyone in Nigeria is corrupt. If you have a car in Nigeria, you are corrupt. That's how bad it is.

Despite the bad roads, bad hospitals, bad schools, in fact bad everything around them.

Maybe not all.
Perhaps almost all.
It is that way because we don't highlight the completely POLITICAL nature of the media paparazzi corruption fight that changes NOTHING. Rather it makes corruption WORSE.

OBJ "fought" corruption with Ribadu's EFCC but that did not stop him from STEALING us like crazy and taking stolen money from Ibori to fund Yar'Adua's 2007 election, not so?
How is Buhari's lopsided fight different?

We all must INSIST that anyone claiming to fight corruption must himself be clean first with personal and corporate TRANSPARENCY linking expenses and assets to their TAX returns. That is the only way to reduce corruption drastically in our country.
Otherwise, we are just going round in a vicious cycle.

That is the problem. There is no clean person in Nigeria. Everyone is tainted. You are too close so you can't see it. It is that bad. Nigeria will fall one day. It is inevitable.

Let us all follow the sequence of this case.

EFCC placed a "No-Debit" on four corporate accounts. Please bear in mind that these accounts do not have PEJ name tied to them. The BVN on the said accounts belongs to somebody else, which is already a crime.

PEJ is now claiming the money in the said accounts, I believe she is just trying to overuse the goodwill of her husband.
