AceRoyal:in saner climes, people avoid the courts but in Nigeria criminals are the ones who keep on shouting 'take me to court, take me to court' and I guess you know the reason why, our courts and their judges are useless. more often than not when you hear someone shouting take me to court, take me to court, that person is guilty. talk about media trial, it is everywhere. in our churches, communities, schools. why don't you tell those who burnt an armed robber alive last week to take that armed robber to court? even buhari is on Media trial. patience Jonathan isn't helping her cause. Nigerians are not fools, Nigerians know the history of public people. they know the woman has never worked anywhere yet she has 35 million dollars, and then you have the 4 companies confessing already. Nigerians are only talking, there is no media trial. |

vincent10:Here we go again!!! I bet you did not even read the article. A lot is definitely wrong with us (Youths). When we call for proper prosecution of the "well-known corrupt leaders" it becomes easier to call for the prosecution of the ones hiding under the cloak of "ruling party". |

The woman is unenlightened and may end up being consumed by her ignorance. She boldly owned up to being a thief? Who does that? Even Tompolo has not boldly owned up to blowing pipelines despite being from a lower background and considered less exposed. The end of PEJ might not be nice as the entire world might hashtag her like #bringbackourgirls or even call for her trial in US or elsewhere. Her supporters should pray for this her ignorance not to attract American attention. |

When Northerners 'stole' , it is not corruption but when southerners 'stole' , it is corruption. Corruption is a very serious matter for this country but ABACHA, according to Buhari is 'NOT CORRUPT' and it has been rumoured that Abubakar Abdulsalam is the most corrupt former Head of State. Even Turai Yardua loot with the cabal when Umoru Yardua was on his sick bed was said to be legendary. IBB AND OBJ ? We need to get to the bottom of what is fueling corruption in our country instead of selective finger pointing. Prosecute Patience Jonathan if the money is stolen. |

Pidggin:Because almost everyone around him at the time he was president seems to be corrupt. First it was dasuki, then deziani, now his wife. His own wife. Especially his wife. She would not be able to amass such wealth unless through his influence. And these are not just meager amounts we are talking about. He has to be the most incompetent leader on earth not to have noticed that all this was happening around him. |

vikinatius:unless you free urself from self afflicted bias you won't understand the problem facing Nigeria. No one said she stole, let her prove the investment dat a mere civil servant will make in her lifetime to amass $31m for medical upkeep alone. Trying to defend Patience shows the highest level of political dishonesty and lack of focused consideration for the plight of millions of Nigerians impoverished by the corrupt practices of nefarious filibusters. |

nortcentrallord:is she by any means ur mother? Did she give you part of the money? No honest person will keep her personal money in the accounts impersonated as that of her maids. She created accounts in the name of her maids and has the sole signatory to the accounts. Biko reason this very well na. Corruption is staring us in the face and u still try to deny or argue on her behalf. Quite a pity! |

seguno2:You people need to know how to argue constructively. Who is talking about Buhari? As far as i am concerned he in a long line of useless leaders you all have selected once again and will continue to select. So because Buhari and anyone around him is corrupt we should not question how a woman, with no viable skill, is able to amass millions of dollars? Or the fact that she was able to do it because of her equally corrupt husband? You guys deserve to suffer. You don't want to think like normal people abi? Carry on. No wonder you are all known as a nation filled with 200 million mumu. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPytmuhYDAU |

Mama Thief. Don't worry her people living in abject poverty will still support her. Despite the bad roads, bad hospitals, bad schools, in fact bad everything around them. |

banmee:Maybe not all. Perhaps almost all. It is that way because we don't highlight the completely POLITICAL nature of the media paparazzi corruption fight that changes NOTHING. Rather it makes corruption WORSE. OBJ "fought" corruption with Ribadu's EFCC but that did not stop him from STEALING us like crazy and taking stolen money from Ibori to fund Yar'Adua's 2007 election, not so? How is Buhari's lopsided fight different? We all must INSIST that anyone claiming to fight corruption must himself be clean first with personal and corporate TRANSPARENCY linking expenses and assets to their TAX returns. That is the only way to reduce corruption drastically in our country. Otherwise, we are just going round in a vicious cycle. |
| Re: Corruption And The Audacity Of Patience Goodluck - By Gbenro Olajuyigbe by banmee(m): 2:50pm On Sep 17, 2016 |
seguno2:That is the problem. There is no clean person in Nigeria. Everyone is tainted. You are too close so you can't see it. It is that bad. Nigeria will fall one day. It is inevitable. |

AceRoyal:Let us all follow the sequence of this case. EFCC placed a "No-Debit" on four corporate accounts. Please bear in mind that these accounts do not have PEJ name tied to them. The BVN on the said accounts belongs to somebody else, which is already a crime. PEJ is now claiming the money in the said accounts, I believe she is just trying to overuse the goodwill of her husband. |
