Every society's future depends in smart and intelligent leaders of tomorrow, but with these unintelligent and basement mentality ipob youths, their societies and villages are doomed and we can now see why their region is so backward.

Talk about a wasted generation born and raised with hate and bitterness.

Every time news about Lagos surfaces on Nairaland villagers from ogun, osun, ekiti, oyo and ondo comes online and start shouting ipob, avengers and all the rubbish in their brains. If you check they don't live in Lagos but in their state villages. Lagos will continue to be home for all Nigerians, until you developed your states to Lagos standard you have no bragging right! Remove Lagos and compare your states to other states in the east afonjas!

Some of you display so much ignorance..........

This is not a government project. This is 100% private..... so

1. Is the timining right? - If the investors have confidence in the Lagos business environment, why not?
2. Should it be a priority for Lagos State? Absolutely YES!!!! A city trending towards 25million people, transportation is a nightmare that will require many innovative interventions
3. The big issue of maintenance is left to the investors.....if they like let them not maintain their vehicles
4. Another white elephant project?.......... ignorance

PS - to the best of my knowledge, Rivers Mono rail is not a white elephant project. It is just that Wike and his co-travelers cannot see beyond their myopia to understand the value in integrated transportation and infrastructural development

Ok till then; but Lagos government should not forget that countries that have this already planned for it from inception. Structurally Lagos is congested already. If that is the case, so many people will still be rendered homeless. God will help us all.
Any evidence to support this "frivolous" statement?

Have they finished the light rail after $1 billion World Bank loan?
Useless question.

The project is strictly private sector driven

Oga please just two questions

1) How long have you lived in Nigeria?

2) Have you ever done business with the government before?

Investors are bringing in hundreds of millions of dollars to pump into the economy and create tons of jobs and this one is saying no work? Is this not how jobs are created and how to boost the economy?

Or you think this project is going to build, run and maintain itself and not by Nigerian or human beings...?

You people really think and rationalize at below elementary school level...
grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

@Aresa, can you imagine a typical mindset of someone that calls himself a Nigerian youth?

You're not saying anything and to me it's a share waste of time.......as I see your attempt to take an escape route after you've been found out. It is crass ignorance to be asking stew.pid questions about "maintenance", on a private sector driven project..........

Meanwhile, some of us has been following this project since the day Captain Olumide was hosted by Channels TV in circa 2012/2013 and he gave a full picture of how the project will be handled
Re: Lagos Begins Work On Cable Car Project by matrixme(m): 12:44pm On Sep 20, 2016
This is what Lagos State government must keep reminding themselves. Nigerians and indeed lagosians have a car culture, for it helps them prove they have 'arrived'. There is no ambitious transport system that can be developed that will clear traffic challenges in Lagos than wider road networks.
Do you exactly think people will leave their expensive cars at home and hop on crains or trains no matter how sophisticated that may look? It will appeal to people without cars, but the roads will still not be free.
This was the same baseline thought that initiated the BRT, that people will leave their cars home and hop on the fancy buses. No, they excelled better as advert platforms instead. Nothing makes for a well planned city road networks. That's why Uyo may never experience such traffic problems like Lagos in years to come.

Lekki Ikoyi bridge that Fashola built many years ago that even Facebook CEO jogged on fee week ago still shinning and looking new like it was built yesterday because of what. Because of proper maintenance and this is even a state project.

These ignorant villagers care less about maintenance or any project, their main issue is the same hate and bitterness, they don't even give a damn about Lagos state to start with..

I really want this to take off, I really do.

But you know these things typically use electric motors to move... which means that around 6pm, in rush hour, you're above ground, and PHCN seizes light... And if you're unlucky that there's fuel scarcity, you're going to spend the night in that pod, dangling with no way to get down.

No thanks. Government: please solve the existing issues first, before you create new one.
