Lol.

Says one of the major cause.

We need to know the cause so that our children will not suffer the same thing we are suffering.

Back then our parents were interested in the price of milk and bread going down without keeping eye on major issues.

Our major problem is over reliance on OIL we need to diversify the economy. We need to export more things and stay away from import unless it is 99% compulsory.

We should not import any food at all. We are blessed with fertile lands wasting away.

We should not import fuel. Our refineries should be empowered to service us and export the remaining.
By asking NLNG to search for more oil in Benue and Chad bah?

Saraki would have been a smarter leader. We need solution not the cause of the problem. Naija got it wrong with PMB. He's 30 years behind.

What is the crime if we increase export capacity while we diversify?

They are mutually exclusive. Encouraging youths to go into massive farming and also doing all we can to increase our oil production can be done without problems.

Also the oil exploration in Benue and Chad Basin did not start during Buhari's tenure.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/01/n27-7bn-chad-basin-oil-exploration-suffers-setback/

Note that 27.7billion was spent already to achieve this before Buhari came in.

Go and read the information on NNPC's site too

People have been paid to do it even when Diezani was the petroleum minister.

Solutions is for the Senate president to concentrate on his job and stop advising the executive how to do their job.

And to stop dragging their foot in doing what the executive asks the NAss to do.
Cases in point:
PIB bill
Money laundering bill
Granting of emergency powers to tackle economic crisis.

That you agree with Deziani says a lot by the way.

You know it's funny when you guys shout farming upandan. What's government doing to assist those that have been farming in the rural areas? Ok if we all farm don't you think there will be a lot of losses as demand will be less than supply which will bring down the cost of farm produce? If government had said farm we will buy i know people that will be motivated to farm because there's a buyer on ground already.

Re: Nigerians Need Solutions Not The Cause Of Problems – saraki by Omeokachie: 6:27pm On Sep 20, 2016
Unfortunately for you Mr Saraki, Buhari have no solution to the problems. He thought the duty of a president is only to preside over the sharing of oil revenue.

So get used to hearing him complain and do nothing else, while he asks nigerians to pray for oil prices to rebound so he can have money to share.

That is the problem we had.

U know when they said oil was a curse back then when I was growing up, I wonder if the old men were wise.

I just discovered recently that they are right.

Cost of farm produce can not go down. Instead of importing, the local food would be bought.

That will not put unnecessary pressure on naira to source for dollars to buy rice.

If u check my previous submission I said Govt should encourage youths and one of such encouragement is what u mentioned.

Assuring me u will buy if I produce and we already agree the price.

So the millions of tons of rice that would be imported can be bought locally.

Imagine a nation where we still important Chicken, Turkey etc

For what exactly ?

Why is peak milk hollandia still finding its way to Nigeria ?

What do you mean by cost of farm produce cannot go down? If the market is flooded with maize, farmers will be forced to sell at any price because they can't afford to leave it to spoil. I am categorically telling you that this would give birth to another problem and frustration.

The solution to the challenges we are facing is to try every trick in the box to lure in investors. Investors in science, technology, health, manufacturing etc. Give them land and light so they are comfortable. The phones we import should be produced here. The tv, clothes whatever. Jobs will be available and everyone will be happy. Of course investors will have to agree to employ at least 70% nigerians. So my friend is not to sing "go to the farm everybody" if not we end up having to consume what we produce.

Is maize the only produce ?

Why not mention cocoa? Cnt cocoa be exported ?

Cnt cassava be exported ?

What do they use for making corn flakes ? Cnt u supply local producers and export ?

Bros u av to read with an open mind.

All what u stated are also part of diversification but should we still continue to import food ?

If No au do we achieve that without farming ?

Saraki talks as if he is not among those who have plunged the nation into this present economic mess.
As expected the crooks in the NASS will want to buy up the people's sympathy by playing the 'concerned fellow' game, while in essence they are striving hard to protect their loot and make more for their generational upkeep.
I was actually looking for where he said they will bring their salaries in line with the minimum wage of N18,000.
Did anyone see that part?

By not asking everyone to go into farming. That would be chaotic. Those already in it assist them so they can produce in large scale.

By the way my brother is purely into agriculture so if there's any grant that does not involve man know man make I know. So he can produce enough to export. Because to cultivate some few hectares can drain someone financially not to now talk of producing to export
