The Imo state government has banned Easter church services in the state.

The state commissioner for Information and strategy, Declan Emelumba, said that lockdown in the state against the spread of COVID-19 will continue.

He disclosed that the government lifted the lockdown order on Friday to enable people shop for the Easter celebration.

The information commissioner said that the lockdown continues from Saturday..

Emelumba said that the government was determined to taking measures to ensure that the virus did not spread to the state.

Well if what it takes for a pandemic of this magnitude to slow down is to ban a celebration, why not? You could do it with your family cool.. but I doubt they'll comply

Well, I just hope that coronavirus disabled it's fangs today when the lockdown was lifted.
Nigerian leadership is funny. This is why people come up with conspiracy theories of the virus being a hoax.
Why relax a lockdown in the first place?
If you must relax a lockdown, you may as well let people go to church on Sunday.
Or will coronavirus go into hiding today and resurface tomorrow?

I think it's a good idea.
How I wish Muslims all over the country could obey this social distance of a thing but hell no, they still observe jumat prayers and burial gatherings.
