Today marks 133 days since submitting the online application. I went to check the portal, it said updated but upon opening, I saw nothing had been updated. Has this happened to anyone before?

I was feeling like the Methuselah of the online application set. I am so glad to let you have that title.

Please clarify that you got a mail that your account has been updated and upon checking you found nothing?

Lool....with these CIC people, i am sure someone else holds the title.

I did not receive any email, i just decided to log onto the portal just in case and thats when i saw updated, but it was an empty update.

My sister did online application sinceeeeeeee may 19 2016 not even hi from this people no update nothing. Pls what is going on

Are you really sure that nothing has been updated? Maybe your application status has moved from not started to processing.

Only God and IRCC or wetin dem dey call them knows what's happening to online applications..... its frightening.......frustrating..,.. call it whatever

I used to have a smile on my face when I read that someone has a TRV and the person says: "To God be the glory"

I smiled some more when someone listed prayer as part of the documents submitted. I would be like: We can be very religious in this country sha.

I now see that IRCC can make you become very spiritual. Lol.

Nothing to panic about. You'll get your passport back in 2 weeks' time, hopefully. I've done my own survey on NL fellas, who had applied via paper route in-here. The applicant with the longest processing time got his/her passport back in the 8th week. Concerning virgin passport, it doesn't really matter. I got my first US visa in 2004 on a virgin passport. My cousin, also got his TRV on a virgin passport recently. He applied to attend an education fair. If your documents are in line with CIC requirements and genuine...and you can prove your ties to CIC beyond doubts (with your documents), you'll get your visa. Please buttress it with prayers too, I'm sorry for being religious here but it's always worked for me.

Yeah!!!!!! Congrats!!!! I was just believing and hoping that the ghost update will manifest as flesh and blood.

But this title that I dropped for only one hour so and it has come back to me.

The good news is that i collected my passport this morning with visa to be expire in nov. 2020

Make I also share good news with you guys here..my Technician Applied for TRV on the 20th of July. I accompanied him to VFS today after were done with the presentation we went for, around Lekki. He was panicking like kilodeee, since he got his pickup message by vfs yesterday. Maybe because he perpetrated some blunders on his family information form, on which he mistakenly signed that he's got no kids, even though he submitted his child birth certificate and filled-in his boy's name in the column provided on the form. I noticed these mistakes on the photocopy he made, after he had already submitted his documents at vfs on the 20th of July. I told him to send them an email right away and attach a correctly signed and filled form which he did. On getting there today, he found a multiple visa, 2 years on his passport. He's a first time applicant to Canada but he's been to schenghen area a couple of times.(Hungary and Germany)

Below are the documents I arranged for him...

-Salary Account

-USD Domiciliary Account

-Euro Domiciliary Account

-2 Current accounts with 3m and 3.5m naira credit balance each

-Employment Letter indicating his leave date and salary structure

-Bond, which I prepared that he must remain under employment with us for 3 years( a good tie to his home country).

-Board Resolution stating the PTA that will be given to him upon issuance of his visa by CIC

-Copies of his Schenghen Visas(coloured)

-Copies of his previous foreign training certificates

-Flight reservation

-Hotel reservation

-Conference Invitation

-Conference registration invoice

-Introduction Letter and

-Itinerary

They issue visas to all categories of applicants. I met 2 students today who came to pick their student visa. I got to know because they were asking each other which school were they going to, showing each other their visa. Unfortunately, I asked one of them if he's still going to meet up because schools have already resumed and he said he's deferred it till January 2017 already . Some family members were also smiling... they could be going for tourism, who knows? What still amazes me is the long processing time by CIC... 8 weeks for Paper application and 120 days (or more) for online application can be very frustrating. Amazingly CIC doesn't see one-third of US Visa applicants per day. The day our technician applied, he said they were not up to 30 yet, it took 2 months to process. Today as well, the applicants on ground were so scanty in number and I'm sure they don't know anything yet...they could end up waiting for 2 months or more

Can anyone kindly state how I can get a flight itinerary (for a Canadian tourist visa) booked myself without paying any airline or travel agent?

Google it. Call or email anyone you find on Google and tell them what you want. They will prepare a reservation for you, free of charge. You may ask them to send it to you via email.

Application submitted 14th May 2016. Biometrics done 19th May 2016.

-invitation letter

You have a point. They emphasise that:

"You must provide information on your valid visa from the United States as well as previous travel history‎.‎
If you hold a valid visa from the United States, provide a clear, scanned copy of your visa"

Still, it requires more. You are gainfully employed with sufficient money to fund your trip. This is a key factor.
