Nigeria's problem has always been that of mismanagement, greed and bias which has led to the implementation of silly policies that have pulled us down for so long and make life hard for the common man. You are selling assets to revive the economy right? Ok, who will manage the fundsobtained from the sale (i.e. if ever there is a sale cos govt can just transfer ownership to trusted loyals and quote a might amount to fool the public), the same govt that have over the years bn so wasteful with resources? Put the right policies in place, give jobs to d right people (i.e. put nepotism and favouritism aside) and in no time this country will be on track to be one of the greatest nations in the world. The youths are already giving up on the nation. God help us |

I think Dangote and CBN governor are just suggesting and I don't think is in their power to action it. We would have allowed the president to respond before raining curses on the President. |

There should be a balance to the argument. Which assets are they considering and on what basis. Has a due diligence report been conducted to identify lack of alternative funding Is there an opportunity cost issue here Most importantly, is this in our best interests as a nation ethically ![]() I think.the last question will be a difficult one to answer looking at the track record set by this government...... Selling assets will not plug a hole in a fast downward spirally economy.. The money will only go where the reserve met in office over 18 months ago went. What about all the recovered monies:---- whose account is accumulating daily interest on the back of gross national suffering. Just like Falana has identified, let there be a cut in the overwhelmingly robust salaries and allowances of all the tiers of executive government..... the savings here alone should plug a hole in fastly hemorrhaging resources to some degree. No drama about inability to pass the bill at NASS... due to some constitutional right jizz... Same would have held for sale of national assets!! It will strenghten national morale afterall..... the change begins with me..., Hope Buhari can identify with that slogan!!!! . |

and what have we done with all our so called national assets? Let me remind us of some of them: Nigeria Airways. NITEL Nigerian National Shipping line Eleme Petrochemical Refineries Ajaokuta ALSCON Palm Companies Iron Ore compnies Rubber companies Banks Salt companies fertilisers Can anyone tell me anyone of these companies that are productive today? But we replaced NITEL with GSM - super efficiency will billions contributed through taxes, work for those fabricating mast, supplying diesel, jobs to nigerian We replaced govt banks with GTB, Zenith, Access etc - much better service and billions paid in taxes We replaced Nigeria Airways with Arik, Medview, First Nation etc billions paid in taxes with jobs to nigerians We replaced national fertiliser companies with indorama and now we no longer import fertiliser we replaced eleme petrochemical and now we no longer import plastic resins govt hotels are all dead, yet private hotels are all flourishing!! even the oil is mainly produced by foreign companies. The NPDC/NNPC thats supposed to be our own is inefficient and incompetent and anly produce like 200k barrels of the circa 2mln barrels we produce a day and even at that its being done by service companies not fully by NPDC!!! NLNG that is very efficient is because government owns only 49% so they are not majority. The JV's where govt owns more than 50% are suffering because government cannot pay its own share of cash calls!! What the hell are we saying?? What has government ever done that worked ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ??They should sell all the damned things and collect only taxes. |

What is needed here is to have a macro economics outlook Buhari keeps chasing little fires due to poor interface analysis skills and poor appropriate delegation. His ability to perform a RCA is diminished by his deep insecurities and tribal sentiments. The sycophants surrounding him know that and play the politics as long as they get their daily bread, He has poor visionary capacity... its good to have good people to delegate too... but the buck stops with you!!! You have to see or imagine the end product whilst at the beginning of the product life cycle. In order to finetune the processes, minimising waste and risk whilst taking advantage of opportunity costs. Outside of the war on corruption, he becomes strangely myopic on other matters. Coming from a previous president not a greenhorn, this is a testament to his cattle rearing capabilities rather than a retired general in the nigerian army. From social media appearances, he has got pretty and ?intelligent women folk around him:- no disrespect to his son(s) Its simply that the girls are more visible.. What are they doing to help their dad other than cheap photo opportunities ![]() Mr President needs to get his acts togerher about him. He neeeds to get the right people or let the right people around him work their magic. Severe the dead weight and be more tolerant of human failings if the long term productivity and development is being delivered!! Use your PR team to reveal the evident result-producing nation- building efforts across geo-political zones. There's no use singing anti-corruption mantra if the economy is fastly being destroyed by a tight-fisted derisory grip that neither celebrates investment or encourage visible long lasting development in a non-lopsided manner. We are not an extension of someone's business empire, where nigerians get a chill when he coughs!! A proud nation, full of able brilliant minds, proud but stronger in our diversity.... not willing to have a resurgence of the hegemony! As an investor, I want to go to a country that works but also enables my investment grow. At the moment, Ngr can't boast of the two. . |

As usual Falan's article didn't have depth. It's now like everyone now want to us every medium to attack the legislature. Unless you are bias, this one from falana has no depth. Is this the first time government sell it's assets. Even Bola Tinubu bought Lagos government assets I've said it we are giving Falana too much media attention. |
