Naija recruitment process is unpredictable.
Spent 10months in a recruitment process to get the current job I have now.

Mhen naija job recruitment process dey Taya person. My current job....during the recruitment process two of my birthdays passed .What can I do? Those times I refresh my email 1000times per day. But the salary package worth the wasted years tho .

If its in Nigeria , notes or requests from prominent people are considered way above any other consideration. If you like you can have 1st class from Harvard that's your cup of tea

Well, it all depends on how pressing and urgent it is to the company for that position to be filled.

There is this thing i do after attending a phase of interview in any company:

I COMPLETELY FORGET ABOUT IT! It aint easy, i must confess, but it takes conscious effort to do so. And I suggest you do so too, bro, to save you from disappointment and help you concentrate on other ventures.

Dont get me wrong. I dont imply that u shouldnt pray about it or keep in touch with your fellow applicants. But just dont dwell on it too much, plus reduce your level of expectancy. Naija recruiters are really something else

During obasanjo reign it took 2years. During Yaradua it took 1year. During GEJ it took 2years. Presently under Pa Buhari it takes forever, na job losses oh no recruitment. Seriously under PMB it takes 1 year

As has already been noted, it depends on the need and urgency.
For example in the health sector, some offer immediate employment, especially private institutions, while some could take years
Generally speaking, and all things being equal, in government setting and according to the public procurement act, any job position has to be advertised for a minimum of 6months, following which you get back to the ministry with the list of applicants. After ministry gives go ahead, you get invited for interview. After interview, list is sent to ministry for approval.
All these can take up to 6 months

Whenever you write a test or go for an interview, always try to forget about the coy by looking for fresh vacancies. Nigerian recruiters know how to keep people in suspense better than Nollywood scriptwriters.
