It seems these two jobs top the list of jobs that are so detested by most Nigerian graduates. I've seen many graduates who studied Education running away from teaching and graduates who studied Marketing, running away from marketing jobs.

If there was no other option and you have to choose either one of these jobs, which would it be?

Teaching all the way

1. I'ld rather impact future leaders in a classroom than trek under the hot sun in order to meet target

2. I'ld rather be comfortable in a well ironed shirt and skirt than wearing suit everyday where people think I earn 300k but deep down I know I actually earn the tithe of 300k

Marketing job no easy sha. Especially, when it involves a service that many people do not subscribe to. E.g insurance marketing!

I see lot of people choosing teaching over marketing. The dislike for marketing jobs is really on the high side

Marketing... I'll choose marketing over and over again. In fact I thank God for the opportunity He

gave me for being into it. If I had secured an office job and did it for 10 years I would not have

learnt what I learnt just in one year of my job. The future is about high net worth networking which

you can only achieve through networking. I've had the opportunity to meet people I only would

have dreamt of meeting from this job. One good deal and you can earn what some people will

earn in a year. But still marketing is not for the faint hearted cause you'll have bad days and need

to stay highly focused and motivated to achieve results.

And for you to be a successful entrepreneur you have to learn the rudiments of marketing else

you'll miss Out on one of the path ways to success.

Marketing is better if you have what it takes to succeed in it.

Teaching, better than marketing. Especially, when you work under state govt you will enjoy teaching, you will have time to do other things.

AS FOR MARKETING SOME COMPANIES SENTENCE THEIR EMPLOYEES TO FIRING SQUAD. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THEY ARE CHASING YOU WITH UNREALISTIC TARGET. IF YOU FAIL TO MEET TARGET OR THAT TARGET FAIL TO MEET YOU, YOU BECOME TARGETED FOR PROBATION

Would have gone for teaching instead of marketing.but when a school offered you 7k per month and marketing is 45k monthy have no choice it's money I want not work.

I can be a teacher and a marketer at the same time, in the course of my teaching career, I'd market my products in the school I teach or at weekend...
Marketing job is flexible, you can chose when It'd be convenient for you to market your goods..

I will rather be a love-vendor

I mean will be supplying rich men prostitutes cos I'm very sure I will get paid and definitely get laid .

Marketing anyday! You get to meet loads of influential people.

Well 90% of the time, I ll choose teaching. Reason is that I love teaching.

But if the marketing job is such dt d product /service moves, and d conditions and terms for d teaching is not favorable, then I guess I go for d marketing job while waiting for a better job.

The job will influence my choice. Thanks everyone!

Does your statement imply that you can do blood money also to earn higher since money has priority than the work?

I would rather teach than to do marketing.

I'll definitely go for teaching. In marketing u keep saying same thing over n over again, from one person to another. Teaching gives u time to read wide and do other things. And secondly marketing can frustrate u with unimaginable targets.

No brainer....teaching. With the economy the way it is even an experienced and successful marketer would tell you it has become soooo hard to market any product or service.
In teaching I don't have to always be an employee. I can start at N7K per month.... and in 4 months build a reputation to enable me to have private classes earning N7K per day for starters.

To me passion for a work is the decider. Even if you earn 200k without a passion for marketing you wouldn't deliver well likewise in teaching.

Though I have taught in school during service year and it gave me joy developing brains. Marketing is what i do now but would soon leave it after aiming my target because mehn! if you no get mind and you no sabi lie, one small girl wey Oga dey kpansh go wash you with insalt. Though I supervise but field work no easy my pple.

If govt can raise the profile of teachers like the lecturers then I embrace teaching fully
