Can raining season amount to anything if hydro turbines are not working. When this government came into power, they found out that more than two-third of our hydro turbines were not functional. Now they have been repaired and are now operational.This is why we are now enjoying improvement in power supply.

Situation would have been even much more better had Niger Delta boys not been destroying gass pipelines because right now as we speak, a lot of bass turbines are lying idle.Our actual installed capacity in power generation is 7000MW plus.

During Jonathan era, electricity generation usually move upward from around 2100MW to 2700MW during the rainy season.

We never experienced power stability during the Jonathan era like we are experiencing today

lol u knw our area is school area and place is congested with off camp hostels. Two, three, even up to five storey buildings so a lot of money will be needed to fund for new transformers. Now the landlords who own these properties, most of them do not even stay in Aluu community so it's gona be very difficult for electricity to even be installed.



Infact as soon as my rent expire, I go just pack comot from dat area.

The industry source who countered the position of the TCN said a transmission company worth its onions should have double of existing generation capacity.

I really don't know how people including government ministers will just sit in their air-conditioned offices to manufacture lies to deceive Nigerians.

Few weeks ago, Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) raised alarm that national grid does not have the capacity to wheel the so-called 5,000MW gencos claim they can generate. So in reality the much claimed 5,000 is not being generated by running turbines. They are just idle cold machines.

Even at the true capacity of 3,484MW, they need network capacity of 6969MW to be able to wheel (carry) that much power to DISCOs (distribution companies like EKEDC, IKEDC, etc). Implication is you need about 200% or double of the generating capacity as wheeling capacity for efficient evacuation to prevent systems collapse. Actual current wheeling capacity of TCN is about 4,000W.

I don't know why Nigerians are so gullible and allow their leaders to easily deceive them, without bothering to do a simple check of facts.

The so called 5000W is nothing but virtual megawatt or "technical" megawatt. Nigerians including those "jubilating" are still lighting candle and running "I better pass my neighbour".
