Godwin Obaseki, the All Progressives Congress (APC) party candidate in the gubernatorial election in Edo State, has won the contest in the two-way race with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), winning most of the votes. Pastor Ize-Iyamu of the PDP came second in the votes collated and announced by INEC. The Independent National Electoral Commission, announcing collated results across the state, said APC won 13 of the state’s 18local government areas. It's actually a game over for the PDP. Edo's election was more like a litmus test for the ruling party nd they hv clearly won. Had it been it went the other way, it would hv been easy for PDP to get the necessary "ginger" against upcoming elections nd ultimately the 2019 general elections.
