They will be caught. Their only route if escape is abandoning their mission by either killing her and bailing or just leaving her and bailing. Bit if they think they'll get money and live it up, I'm sorry... |

Are they expecting the ransom to be paid in cash or in bank transfer? If cash, how long will it take them to finish counting the money before they release her? If through bank transfer, they should ensure that their BVN info is up to date. |

baridamhoney: The economic icon professor Aluko once said "that the poor can't sleep because they are hungry and neither can the rich sleep because the poor are awake". So it behooves the elites and those at helm of affairs to k n ow that unbridled corruption in the society will trigger of this kind of insecurity. All over the world nations with high level of corruption are faced with these challenges. Check the statistics of kidnapping in the south America continent especially Mexico, Venezuela and you understand what I am saying. The European and north America countries that try to have zero tolerance for corruption and have some form of welfare scheme for the poor are no fools. It helps to reduce rate of crime. Corruption and insecurity go hand in hand and are not mutually exclusive. The way we are going is not the way to build a nation. There is too much impunity in the land. All said and done, INCREASE IN CRIME RATE IS ONE OF THE SIGNS THAT WE ARE LIVING IN THE LAST DAYS. ONLY GOD'S KINGDOM CAN PRODUCE LASTING PEACE AND SECURITY. |

Goahead: See the kind of comment you are making? Where is your sense of patriotism on independence day. So all those that have started huge projects should now abandon it midway because buhari is president. Why are your kinsmen going ahead with their investment plans ? Does it mean everyone investing In Nigeria now is either dumb or foolish according to your reasoning. Even in countries with civil war people are investing so your line of reasoning is dull. |

NwaNimo1: ....i doubt if they'll go all the way to kidnap Mrs CBN gov for N17m. That amount is just too small! I'm sure they won't do less than #50m. But trust the police, they'll say "no ransom was paid in the end!" |

grossintel: Yes o. The US security services know a lot but choose to ignore a lot. All the small time fraudsters and hackers are ignored and allowed to enjoy their loot because a large scale security threat is not involved. Try to use bitcoin to accept ransom for a high profile kidnap (say, the wife of the Federal Reserve Chairman), and then you will know that UNCLE SAM knows everything. They will track you down in a matter of hours, no matter your location. 2 Likes |

Let's be careful @ statements we make as this is a very serious issue. The CBN Gov,knows any mistake will cost the life of the wife which is of utmost priority to him.I hope this people are caught but if it is the money,he will pay it and add jara. The message as someone said up there is clear, countries where corruption reigns supreme, where might is right, where jungle justice is swansong and impunity thrives face these challenges more often.PMB is not doing enough in the corruption fight, not media trials but convictions. The economy is suffering,Professor Aluko said it all, there is no justification for this but our leaders should wake up and stop passing the buck(apologies to PMB),it won't help us. On this Independence day,am hopeful of a new Nigeria where tribes and tongues will make us more stronger and united to face our daunting challenges. |
