The PDP candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu -- who lost to Obaseki in the recently conducted Edo governorship election-- was filmed giving out speech to the citizens of Edo State.

4 simple reasons to show that Edo governorship election was rigged and INEC is not independent. 1. Election monitors who were accredited before the election were prevented from entering the state collation centre. 2. Results from the field as collated by party agents were different from what INEC announced. 3. A party whose name did not appear on the ballot paper was allocated with votes. 4. The state governor was spotted at the INEC office at midnight prior to the day the results were announced and he was there for hours even though he was not a party agent. I think we should remove independent from INEC's name and be calling them National Electoral Commission, NEC, because it is obvious that there was premeditated arrangement to rig this election and all concerned should be ashamed. Some of us have identified these flaws but our partisan commitments have be clouded our sense of reasoning. I don't know how we can move forward as a nation with this corrupt acts. There in no worse corruption than what we have witnessed in Edo state.

Advice should be elections should be showing the wish and desire of the people and not court rooms
This is what Rivers people have come to realize hence the No-Need-for-the-courts actions
are you new to this country? Even if he goes to court, my broda, he will not get justice because those people that stole the mandate owns the court. The courts in this part of the world are manipulated by the power holders.

it fun watching some people lament coz an election was lost. am neither a pdp fan nor apc supporter but watching from the sideline sweet die. i flashed back and thought, what gave pdp that much power in the past nd i reached a conclusion which is rigging together with their federal might. were we not alive in 2003 wen obasanjo rigged 33 out of 36 states for pdp. memories of how peoples were harassed in ekiti and osun state by the then federal gov. led by jonathan are still fresh in our memory. it's barely 1yr+ apc took over now and pdp have started crying foul.
so the saying that nothing is permanent is through afterall.

Edo people made a huge mistake. In 5 months time they will start complaining about this obaseki guy. Edo people I just want to say that we warned you, but you guys failed to listen.
Unfortunately you did not give details as to why you believe Edos made a mistake by preferring Obaseki.
In actual fact Edos decision to reject Iyamu was borne out of the need not to repeat the mistake they made in 1999 by voting in the Lucky Igbinedion government which this same Iyamu was part of and which ruined Edo State so completely that Edo would have collapsed and got merged with another state if not for Oshiomhole's advent. Of all the 36 states Edo was the hardest hit by OBJ/PDP misrule from 1999 to 2007. Edos learn lessons from their past and don't forget easily. They also do not forgive. It is not like Ekiti where Fayose, after many years of being impeached for fraud, got voted back into power. Such can't happen in Edo. Iyamu had been tested in Edo State long ago and he failed. It is obvious you lack deep understanding of the nature and political philosophy of Edo people. That is the only state in Nigeria for now where people vote based on real issues only rather than the general Nigerian ethno-religious and mundane basis of voting. Let Obsseki fail us like Igbinedion/Iyamu failed us and you'll see Edo people change to another party totally different from PDP and APC. They could try APGA or even an Edo home grown party. Remember that Edo became an AC state before all the Yoruba States except Lagos? That tells you Edos don't care about all these tribal perceptions being attached to parties but the parties manifesto.

That is my Governor

I Stand with Pastor Ize Iyamu

We shall recover back our stolen mandate

God bless the good people of Edo State.
not all accredited voters vote, that is one of the reasons why one will hardly find a balanced election result

Wish I can give you more than one like for this, some people who say they are disappointed in Edo state don't even live in the state. They don't know how horrible it would have been if the godfathers in PDP were allowed to handle the reins again and that would have been inevitable if POI had won. And POI's credibility was also at a low ebb, I know there are no saints and he may have had plans for the state; the man was never known to be a fair player till he started his campaigns and he suddenly became Mr. Nice Guy but some people never forgot and even though they smiled with him, they didn't forget. He should go to court but he should know he who comes to equity must come with clean hands.
That's just it oh... our case is just complicated but thank God that we are intelligent people. I was scared that we may forget too soon and not appreciate what Apc did.

Being in the same boat with the irks of the Igbinedions, Annenihs and under the leprous party of pdp was you shooting yourself in the leg...

Some Nigerians don't seem to understand the situation of things on ground in the state, they see Obaseki's victory as either a foolish choice by Edo citizens despite the economic crunch in the land or it was probably rigged...

1.Was it a foolish choice ?:
I can say only time will tell, placing the two figure heads together, Edo feel more comfortable with Obaseki due to the antecedents of those who surrounded Ize-iyamu , persons who impoverished the states during its darkest era. Oshiomhole (APC) made some erroneous decisions along the way during his last tenure, but we feel the impact of his dividends of democracy all around the states deserves continuity as we refused to throw the baby away with the bath water. Lucky's tenure was so bad they'll tell u they can't construct road because of Mermaid or control gully because we need to sacrifice albino yearly to reduce its ravaging impact and now add to it that ize-iyamu was his secretary then and he still feels it is best to associate with him. How sad ?

2. Was it rigged?
There was no ballot box snatching, no activity of thugs election went smoothly except in the case of money-sharing which has always been a recurring decimal in elections across the Country. Both party were culpable of this act and I feel the reason why the Apc engaged in it was as a result of what happened in Edo-South where igbinedion carried out this act to put his daughter up for House of Reps... Apc simply learnt from them and decided to outsmart PDP this time around a case of being beaten at your game.
If Edo election is so criticized even without bloodshed and what have you? what do we call Rivers' election? And as for the votes we heard all over the media were grossly false, even in Places where Apc cleared, some persons were still uploading results of pdp flawless victory. Let's think now.

Ize-iyamu can go to Court but the whole Nigeria Is waiting to see the outcome, with Rivers in mind

sorry to ask, but can u name any election in Nigeria that has never been rigged?
Every party rigs, but whoever has more power wins in the game of rigging. stop this hatred, it is kids attitude.
Stay away from politics if u want to live long if not, heart break is what follows.
If u want to have peace of mind stay neutral
#teamneutral.
I tot d mantra is change?
Why do APC supporters become fervent promoters of business as usual when ever d crime favours them and sing CHANGE wen it doesn't?
If elections were rigged b4 was it d right tin? Why do we ve 2 go back 2 d dark ages? Is d CHANGE preached truely a negative one as portrayed by d opposition?
We really ve moved 4m light 2 darkness , 4m modern 2 backwardness n achient
Worst of all they ve succeeded in also turning the minds of hither to forward thinking genation to a static retrogressive minded generation where every action instead of comparing 2 better tins are compared 2 how bad/worse it was year ago not even d immieade past
Are we that stupid or what?

APC wil always cheat dier way in yet d president wil stil come out and start preaching democracy, one man one vote and d gullible citizens of Nigeria wil believe and start showering ecomium and praises on dem.
it only in Nigeria politics dat I see criminals celebrated as hero's
Oshomole is worse dan Lucky igbenedion
take it or leave it. Oshomole has made edo state government a fund raising government for himself and his family, piloting and pocketing our fund yet wil stil sind his praise what is wrong with Nigeria is no longer a question but d question is how do wil flush out d bad leaders
56yrs of corruption and selfishness
The thunder that will strike u for saying lucky is better than oshiomole is still doing press up.
