My own reservation:

These people called shiites are not criminals as everybody knows. They don't kill people and they don't kidnap people. They don't carry out robbery attacks and they are not armed. Their only sin is blocking the roads during their procession.

The action of Government is pushing the shiites to be radicalized. It's pushing them to become criminals slowly as their threats of occupying places are criminal tendencies and whoever has criminal tendency is a vulnerable tool that can be exploited by hardened criminals.

Should enemies of the country arm these people, we would find ourselves in a situation worse than Boko Haram as their numbers far outweigh those of BH adherents and they are scattered everywhere across the country unlike BH.

If Government is extending hands of dialogue to BH terrorists and the Militants, it is only telling the world that it only dialogue with criminal elements, indirectly telling the shiites to tow the way of the terrors.

They noted that following the expiration of the 14-day ultimatum given by the sect to the Federal Government within which to release El-Zakzaky, Shiites in millions would occupy the federal capital until their leader was released.

The group spoke under the aegis of ‘Save Zakzaky’s Life Group of Nigeria,’led by its National Coordinator, Bashir Marafa.

The group asserted that as Nigerians, “We have the right to show our grievances and concerns in peaceful manner.

“The police, soldiers and all other security agencies should take note. They should never harass, or intimidate us. Our slogan is free Zakzaky. Our mission in Abuja is to seek the release of our leader, Shaik Ibrahim Zakzaky. Nothing, but that.”

It can be recalled that members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), otherwise called, the Shi’ites, on Thursday, September 22, 2016 marched across major streets of Abuja, the Federal Capital territory, seeking the release of their leader, El-Zakzaky.

Mr. El-Zakzaky has been in detention since December last year after soldiers killed and secretly buried over 300 members of the Shiite group in a massacre that has been condemned by local and international rights groups.
