It's like femi aribisala and femi fani kayode are both related.

Anyway to the topic, i agree with femi aribisala on certain points.
The reason why yorubas must support tinubu is because tinubu will protect the interest of south west more than buhari or anybody from the north.
This is a man that has been holding the south west together since 2011 or thereabout. Now some elements are seeking to cut him into size.

People think tinubu is a wicked man, but i think he is the victim here.

I hear amosun is part of the gang up, if that's true then amosun is an ingrate.

In 2011, prior to the governorship election in ogun state, former governor osoba almost frustrated amosun out of the then ACN, because osoba was still nursing old wounds about his 2003 election loss to gbenga Daniel in which amosun played a major role in his defeat

But tinubu ensured amosun picked the ticket as against opposition from many people in the party, because they believed amosun was a newcomer. But tinubu believed in amosun that he was the right man for the job.

2015 again, osoba struck again, both amosun and
osoba fought for the control of Apc in the state. With tinubu's backing , amosun was able to control the party structure in the state. Osoba eventually left the party for amosun. Despite the fact that osoba was tinubu longtime ally.

So, if amosun is part of the gang up, then he is an ingrate.

I stand with Asiwaju on this

Tinubu has played his role. it is time to jettison Tinubu. You talking about Amosun being ungrateful is exactly the type of Godfather politics we do not want in Nigeria. That you helped me to power does not mean you own me.

Tinubu is the Architect of his own downfall, he has no one to blame but himself.

It's simple, you go against Jagaban you cannot WIN! This is simple pure math, 2019 there will be a Northerner as president. The North can be split 50/50 if Tinubu's APC forms a new party and presents a credible Northerner as a candidate. The SE/SS will vote for that candidate as long as the Vice presidential candidate is from that region, the SW will unanimously vote for Tinubu's APC and there you have it!

***DISCLAIMER***

We all know how stupid Nigerian politicians can be, all it takes is for money to change hands and we have Tinubu selling the South to Buhari again grin grin grin grin

That one concern una...this isnt the time to rally round a man who puts his personal interest first before the collective interest of his people. This isn't the first time Tinubu's greed has backfired on him..i have more interesting people to think of rallying 'round'. All Tinubu needs to do is to start making plans to form another alliance that links truly progressive Northerners with those of the South-West, South-East and South-South. The possibility of that happening should give him a new fillip. At the very least, it would put him back into reckoning, ensuring he can only be ignored at great cost.

Femi Aribisala and his PDP principals can't even wait for Tinubu to declare that he's leaving APC before they start dangling the carrot of realignment to him. Like I once said before, those who intend to oppose Buhari in 2019 are already salivating at the prospect of an alignment with Tinubu. The rate at which former opponents and critics of Tinubu are falling over each other to support him shows clearly that they all admire and crave for his support from afar. The current crisis has opened the door for a possible realignment and it is left for the handlers of the President to handle the current rift in the party with care else, he may have himself to blame.

Tinubu's greed got him into this mess...a greedy man will always be a greedy man. He thought about his stooges and the perks they'll fetch him only, NOT ABOUT THE SW..now that his plans to reap everywhere, drink ND oyel and eat like crab has failed woefully, he's looking for support. You lot should look for a selfless politician to rally round, NOT TINUBU

Its sad you cant see what the femis and other yorubas are trying to do. They are trying to stop history from repeating itself. worst case scenario, buhari will send tinubu to jail and nothing will happen. It will only big a big shame that for the upteenth time, yoruba leaders have been used and umped by the north. This is the scenario Femi is trying to avoid. He captured this sentiments well in the last paragraph

I know the history of my country so take your lies and self deceit to somewhere else. The north has never used and dump the Yoruba race at any point in Nigeria's history. On the other hand, it was the ibos that were used by the north to attain power in the parliamentary government after the 1959 general election. NCP dumped the ibo party, NCNC in 1964 when they no longer need them to form a coalition government. Again in 1979, Shehu Shagari used the Ibos to get the presidency with the promised that Ekwueme will succeed him. Instead of fulfilling the promise, Ekwueme was imprisoned and another northerner took over. Once again, ibos were used and dump. In 1993, the north used Arthur Nzeribe to annul the mandate of MKO, Yoruba's fought back and got the presidency through OBJ, ibos got nothing for their betrayal of MKO. Used and dump again. You guys should learn your history before coming here to spew trash.

The nullification or dilution of Bola Tinubu’s power in the South-West, at this juncture of Nigeria’s economic hopelessness, renders Nigeria at the mercy of Abuja’s incompetence for the foreseeable future. Since coming to power, President Buhari has been unapologetic about the Northernisation of the Nigerian government. He has completely jettisoned any pretensions to the principles of federal character but has placed Northerners in every strategic sector of the government. This is part of the rationale behind the resurgence of pro-Biafra agitators, as well as the emergence of the Niger-Delta Avengers. In the process of consolidating the North, the agenda is now to decimate the South-West. This should not be allowed to happen.

Please WHO is the equivalent of Tinubu in the north yet other regions talk about a strong, COHESIVE northern agenda. The type we saw in 2011 when all northern candidates, including RibaduN stepped down for Buhari
If there is NO equivalent leader in the north who holds everyone by the jugular and has STOLEN all their inheritance- past, present & future, why should the sophisticated south west seek to defend a drug peddler and rogue?
Did I miss anything?

Progressive Nigerians should not allow anyone in these climes to make a fool of Bola Tinubu. We must help him to consolidate and even enhance his position. At strength, Buhari can only be a one-term president without Bola Tinubu. All Tinubu needs to do is to start making plans to form another alliance that links truly progressive Northerners with those of the South-West, South-East and South-South. The possibility of that happening should give him a new fillip. At the very least, it would put him back into reckoning, ensuring he can only be ignored at great cost.

Someone should define progressive for us since Tinubu and his band of rogues are not in anyway progressive.
Not at all!
Definitely not in the mould of Awo whom he PRETENDED to be his political heir in 1999 so as to be voted in. And definitely not like even Jakande.

The buhari led zombies and the tinubu led zombies.

Since we now have this factions... Permit me to analyse that the buhari led faction will always find a need to praise buhari even in worse scenarios and are enthusiastic to put him back in power even if it takes them soaking the baboons with blood.

While the tinubu led zombie faction won't buy into the idea of buhari returning to power as they are bent on revenging the embarrassment of using and dumbing their god asiwaju tinubu thus criticizing buhari every move even if it is sincere they will go ahead using all forms of propaganda to witch hunt him and pull him down...

In conclusion the tinubu led zombies has added wailing into their doctrine and thus I confer to them the only wailing zombies of nairaland and beyond. grin

So anytime you see the wailing zombies used together know it is the tinubu zombies at work. They regard themselvesal as progressives.. Donno whether towards zombiism or wailing...lmao cheesy

I don't agree with Femi Aribisala. Enough of this godfather nonsense.

Remember we are fighting corruption. People with questionable wealth like Tinubu must tell us how he got his money. We are asking patience jonathan same question.

Tinubu is corrupt; he cannot be made a political god. All these " we face anywhere Tinubu faces'" must stop. We can't all start running to Tinubu because he's aggrieved for not being made the godfather of APC. this nonsense needs to stop.

For instance.

We all knew the regard people have for buhari especially in the north. Suddenly Lai mohammed told the world that Buhari is not the leader of the party rather, he is just a product of the party.

The implication was that, the yoruba lords already planned to push Buhari to the sides, Use Osibanjo to do and undo.claiming they made buhari president. What NONSENSE! angry For anyone to think Buhari and his team didn't see through it, must be a clown.

Also, these idea of fighting Tinubu's war when he or members of his family get served. must stop. The other day he's wife insulted someone. the person. SIMPLY retaliated. their dogs took over the media and streets fighting and distracting us. This nonsense must stop.

Sorry . I'm not for anyone trying to support Tinubu or make him a god because he got a bloodied nose from a fight he boasted about.

I don't support buhari. but if he does well, Tinubu or not, Nigerians will vote him back in 2019.

I know those who claim to hate corruption will now like corruption because of tinubu.

Let Tinubu rather rally around the those of us that oppose Buhari instead of the other way round, what kind of oracle is he?
Why should I rally around an chasing his own personal power?
He didn't resign cos our economy is bad, companies are leaving, hardship, etc
He is resigning cos he can't control and you ask me to rally?

I know he's trying to expand his influence beyond south west but aligning himself with the north without taking thinking about how awolowo was used and dumped by the north. Tinubu and the yorubas as a whole should apologise to the rest of south for joining the north. I stand for biafra but i would also stand for a nigeria where the south south, south east and the south west would stand together and fight this scourge called north. My only issue is whether the yorubas can be trusted.

So far so good, we are still observing his government. If we find any reason not to support him in 2019, we will definitely withdraw our support and vote for another candidate that appeals to us. This Aribisala is a nitwit. He's better than most of them but he's firmly in their school of thought of politics of personalities and ethno-regional balancing. Where is his call for a new politics and for people like me to come create a new thinking in Nigeria. Instead he's advocating for same old same old. He's simply asking for another political party with the same vultures doing another round of rearrangement. Jokers! To solve Nigeria's problems, a platform needs to be created so people like me can be heard, and then I get others like me, and resources, to prosecute the repair of Nigeria. Before that repair reaches political leadership, I would be old or long dead but it will be an unstoppable force at that stage. The first step is not politics - it is education. Politics is the last stage of the social revolution. Do they even come on nairaland to debate? Or even create another forum? No: they think they know it all and the rest 180 million Nigerians must remain spectators. THEY DON'T KNOW SHIT!
