I don't need to persuade you. I get 6hrs' SOT with about 20% battery left. Go to XDA and see people who get 7-8hrs.
Sure you can get 8 hours SOT if:

1) You use Wi-Fi all the time rather than network data

2) You don't make calls with your phone

3) You don't stream with your phone

4) You hardly play games on your phone

5) You stare at it all day just looking at the pictures

3 of 5 is you. Yay or nay? smiley

I surf the Internet like you won't imagine including watching YouTube videos else how can a user have 6hrs SOT by watching photos alone? Have a sophisticated phone without using it for calls? That's funny. I play games when bored. Like I said the battery stats apps are there to show you what consumes battery but the OP don't care to know he just wants it to work out of the box and Samsung isn't interested in that they rather want you to buy the next flagship.
I am on wifi 247 with GPS and sync always on round the clock.

1 over 5 is me and that's wifi nothing else.
Re: Samsung Still Suck At Batteries by Nobody:
Op sometimes I wonder why you come up these funny threads. U claimed you have used s2, s3, note2 and s5 yet they suck at batteries but you still end up buying Samsung. U claim ur investment in VR apps in the reason to prolly buy another Samsung. Now my questions goes thus

Why did you continue to buy Samsung phones since they suck at batteries?

Tell me the phones that had better battery life thati the aforelisted phones in their era?

Since Samsung suck at batteries, list the high end phones that has better batteries than what Sammy offers.

You have 6hrs SOT with Wi-Fi and you're very okay? Let's even make it 7hrs. Use your phone with WCDMA and watch it plummet to the mid 5s which is average for a smartphone.

This is just constant use not standby, cos we know Samsung ain't that good on standby.

I'll take that battery life though as top notch for an Android phone plus coupled with fast charging, you're good.

These Apple fanboys will write anything to up iphones but never ever give credit to android for anything. Has bgr.com ever written anything to praise Android or its OEMS.

U had better don't fall victim for nonsense talks. The regular iphones have poor batteries while the plus version has good batteries.

S7 has good battery but edge has a great battery.

And not just that, a replaced unit of the note 7 still caught fire.

You should be ashamed of urself alongside your fellow ifans. Btw, when are you going to upload shots of iPhone 7, iphones 6s and iphone 6 plus that caught fire in the last two weeks?

After a terrible battery experience with the galaxy s6 (and every other Samsung flagships I've used not tried s7 yet), it is very obvious Samsung just can't make phones with decent battery. I was getting. 2 hours (sometimes less than 2 hours screen on time on my s6). Something just keeps draining the battery in standby.

As if that is not enough, the same problem is back with the note 7. And no I'm not taking about the exploding ones, I'm taking about the new replacement note 7 with the green battery icon. A lot of users have been complaining of low battery standby time. Some even claim the battery drain while charging. There are YouTube videos of users claiming they can't get more than 2 hours standby time. That's a big shame for Samsung if a supposedly phone meant for power users can't get a decent battery life. Even more shame that people had to go through the stress of returning their note 7, then wait a few weeks to get a replacement only to find out it's got a sh*t battery. Samsung need to put their sh*t together especially in the battery department

this is when removable/replaceable batteries come in.

You are always here with one link or the other and leaving other links to prove your point.

Did you read the article? No

These are other links where iPhone 7 was said to be better than the 6s

@ Donhils, it depends on how you use your phone. If you use it like an addict without dropping it, then get the s7. If you're like me, using phones periodically like a regular adult, dropping your phone and coming back to see it at the same percentage, the 6s will last you longer than the s7 in 24hrs out of the box. However, you would give up fast charging which is a big minus. Also, if you are into rooting, you could extend your battery life on your s7 with kernels, disabler and ROMS.

Do an extensive research. Don't fall for the debates here. Go to xda, search for s7 battery life, read the different opinions and statistics uploaded by the members.

Go to imoore and macrumors and do the same for iPhone 6s. Go through the screenshots there.

I'm in the same dilemma. Currently using a note 5 and selling my s6 active. But when it comes to battery life aspect, I have no doubt who I'm picking.

Good luck

Good one bro but you shouldn't have quoted just me here. After all, I was the last guu that posted a link. Did the others post links where S7 outshines those phones? No!

Bgr.com which was used as the source is pro Apple. Btw, Nougat has improved standby time which ios has always shined. Check the reviews of V20.

No one takes BGR seriously. After all the raves about s7 battery life, you now tell me it's worse than s6. Who would take that site serious? I'm sure donhils didn't

The only reason I quoted you was you ignored other good reviews on that same site but attached the headlines like it's the standpoint.

Is your first paragraph supposed to be a sarcasm? Well if it ain't, I stopped visiting that site cos it's full of bias so I wouldn't know the good reviews on there. I only talked about it when the other dude used bgr as a yardstick to judge s7 battery life when other sites and YouTube channels praised it .

At Fonehouse, we’re often asked by our customers how they can extend the battery life on their iPhone. In a world where we’re all getting increasingly busy, the demand for a phone which is long lasting and doesn’t run down has risen at an exponential rate. Conserving your phone battery can be a challenge, but thankfully there are a few things that you can do to make sure that it doesn’t drain too quickly. To try and help make sure that your phone stays on a good level of battery, we’re going to be taking a look at a few tips and tricks here.
