Many Nigerian's refer an ambulance as a vehicle used to carry a corpse from mortuary to a place of interment. The correct word is Hearse. Ambulance is used to carry sick or accident victims to the hospital.

You are correct but that was because an Ambulance always got paramedics on it to revive the person just incase... that's why u hear that.... and Ambulance is not always vehicles, Helicopter could serve as an ambulance too...air lifting

Ambulances are ubiquitous, hearses are few. You will hear more of ambulances than you will of hearses .

Hospitals have ambulances, funeral homes do not have ambulances but hearses .

Dead or living an ambulance is the vehicle a hospital will transport you in.

Stop making everyone look stupid .

Op is correct now! Nigerians read before you devour someone. He said MORTUARY TO PLACE OF INTERNMENT(BURIAL GROUND). And not HOUSE TO MORTUARY. Hearse is a funeral vehicle e.g space wagons or buses. Google search hearses before you criticise the op
